The salamanders refused any use of their gene-seed until Vulkan forgave them. 
It doesn't matter though, just me being a pedant.

Yup I know I wrote around it. My guys were 'lost to the warp' pre-heresy and developed in a system cut off from the imperium other than from the odd garbled astropathic signal keeping them somewhat informed as to what was happening.
Then theirs some stuff with an ork invasion a corruption in their gene seed and blah blah blah ultimately the Salamanders do not accept them back into the chapter, but do not wish them ill due to the shared gene seed, they are resupplied and then banished from Nocturne.
Gotta love the 'warp did it' clause. 
Once it warms up enough for me to prime it, I'll paint it, stupid unpredictable Canadian winter.
