I've heard it might be coming out around July/August, but that's third hand (Clark Kent from the Waaagh, which I can't seem to get to now). Does anyone have any solid rumours as to when the Battlewagon sprue will be coming out, or what will be on it? Also, any one know anything about the metal flashgit from the Warhammer Open day or any other ork-related release rumors?

I'm still confused as to why this wasn't out with the battlewagon. Those are the two most used upgrades, and not in the kit.

Because GW is dumber than a box of rocks.

Actually, the mindset behind this is probably one of release the kit now with the barest of essentials, have people salivate over a damn fine kit and release the sprue six months later so people can get the sprue and a new kit to apply it to.

GW's a business like any other and they're in the game to make money. Why sell one box when you can sell two or even three?

I think it's more of a 'let's sell more stuff' attitude than anything else. The real keeners will buy a Battlewagon, build it and then get a second to go with the upgrade sprue. At the very least, it lets GW maintain the $55 price point on the kit while getting an extra $18-$20 from the upgrade sprue. From a selling standpoint, a $50 tank which you're able to sell for $70 isn't a bad thing.

Because then you get to sell the sprue for extra $$$ to everyone who wants one. And everyone will want one with the questionable reading of the deffrolla and tank shock/ramming.

Once it has been released, and everyone has bought one, they'll finally FAQ it so that its not as useful Its all in the timing, of course.

It's definitely pretty lame that GW didn't put this out with the battlewagon. Anyone have one that they've made? If so what did you use?

A more proper cynical prediction would be that if sales aren't high enough (whatever that means!) then they will FAQ it to make sure that it is as useful as many think it is now!

There were no big gaping empty spaces on the battlewagon frames. That means to fit these (rather large) items in the kit would have required another plastic frame to be included which meant that cost of the kit would have had to be increased which corresponds to an increased price point.

The initial sticker-shock of a kit is important even in the hyper-inflated price world of GW miniatures so it really doesn't make sense to add upgrade frames into the basic kit if it will increase the price point, especially when there are some gamers who won't utilize these upgrades.

If they do come out with this upgrade kit, it allows them to make extra money off those people who are interested in the upgrades without charging everyone more for the kit and they avoid the negative press of having a $55 or $60 kit.

The most frustrating thing for me is the wait,will /when/if/is an upgrade sprue in the works and what besides the deffrolla will be on it?
I have an extra Battlewagon kit sitting on my desk waiting to be assembled and I'm in a holding pattern waiting for any info/pics of the upgrade sprue,as it is I'm starting to eyeball just about every cylindrical object I could glue armour and spikes on.

I predict Rokkits on it as well.

After all, I can upgrade the Big Shoota's to Rokkits, but there is no way to do this at the moment, due to them not being available as Bitz.

Agreed MDG,I figure Rokkitz will be included,which will be a nice opption since I wont have to scrounge around looking for cheap 1/48 scale military planes just to get some useable rokkitz(well that or using deffdread ones or GS sculpts).
I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for some grot riggers.
@ Nurglitch: I figure the Killkanon will be on the sprue....but I just dont know if GW will include the Red Paintjob upgrade,I mean hell that would take up a hole sprue on its own

I've been screwing around with my ork army for 10 years and still don't have it done! I can wait a bit longer for the deathrolla. LOL!!

True, I still have around 80 boyz to paint and a second Deffdread to build so I'm not exactly frothing at the mouth for the upgrades release,still a ballpark idea on a date would be nice.
