I just got an eldar phoenix and need to know the rules for how to use it. in general this is what I have heard about all flyers, eldar probably have different rules:

1)starts in reserves
2)when arrives comes into play between opponents move and shoot phase
3)enters play at one table edge and must exit on different edge (use a string to show flight path)
4)may make one turn up to 90 degrees
5)shoots in a 45 degree front arc of its flight path

being shot at:
in opponents shooting phase any unit in range of the flight path my target the flyer
1) unit must minus 12 inches from thier weapon range
2) hit on 6's unless its a vehicle with AA mounts (cost unknown)

What is wrong or left out?
What else is there?
what do i need to know about eldar flyers?

i've ordered the 2006 update from forgeworld online store but i propably will not see it for awhile

You've got the Forge World Flyer rules correct, however...

You'll most likely only see use of your Phoenix in Apocalypse Games these days and Apocalypse Flyer Rules are different.

1. Starts in Strategic Reserves.
2.When you decide to bring it in(using Apocalypse Reserve rules, which aren't a roll), you place it anywhere you want on the board(it doesn't come in from an edge).
3. It stays on the board and must move at least 36" away from its last position.
4. It may disengage instead of moving and may then return in any following turn(returning to step 2).

Shooting at Flyers in Apocalypse is pretty much the same as in the FW rules, if a weapon is AA, it will state as such(like the Hydra). Pintle Mounted weapons count as having AA Mounts.

Oh, and the newest version of the rules for the Phoenix are in Imperial Armour: Apocalypse(2007/2008 release), NOT Update 2006.
From the FW website:
"Imperial Armour Apocalypse can be also be used for Warhammer 40,000 and it replaces Imperial Armour Update 2006, plus it updates the Imperial Armour hardback books where necessary."

Actually, those flyer rules are no longer used.

The most current Forgeworld book (IA Vol 6) has a page for page reprint from the Apocalypse rulebook for both the flyer and Super-Heavy vehicle rules.

In other words, if you're using the a Super-Heavy or Flyer in 40K you should be using the Apocalypse rules for them (unless of course both players don't want to, but that really applies to every rule in the game).
