Hey guys, was looking at the Blood Angels codex, and was wondering, is this still legal with the introduction of 5th edition and the new Space Marines Codex?
Also, on a side note, is the Space Wolves codex still functional with the 5e ruleset? I may need to play one of these armies in a homebrew campaign, so any help would be great.

Considering the BA codex is downloadable together with a 5ed FAQ on the GW website I'd consider them as official as any other list.
Space Wolves use the newest Space Marines codex and it works in some fashion even if the SW codex is written for the 3ed SM codex. Don't forget to check the SW FAQ though, it clears up some issues.

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".
So in one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 42" and kill more than 5 people. At the same time a Chimera at top speed on a road can move 18"... |

-cough-
I just want to point out, there is no such thing as a "legal" or "illegal" list. ANy list that your TO or Club allows is "Legal" and anything they dont is "illegal"
I could easily say that any tourniment I run can have necrons, or Eldar, or anything painted Pink.
"Legal" is different wherever you go.

Guess what, there are *rules* to this game, just like any other. Yes, if Ihave 'opponents permission' when I play chess my rook can go diagonal. Big deal.
Following the rules means it is legal, breaking the rules means it is not legal.

Essentially, and Gwar!, please stop, honestly. You make a point to say that in every single thread you post in and it's getting very annoying. We understand we don't have to play with people if we don't want to, and we can create whatever houserules we want. We all know this, we don't need to be reminded of it nigh constantly, thank you.
P.S.: Or at the very least have the respect to give yourself a title with troll in it and be from a place with troll in the name. GBF knows the deal, he's a team player =) Then when people are shocked you're annoying them for your own amusement it's not your fault anymore, it says troll multiple times right under your name! You can learn from GBF, he's wise like Kharn ;-)

Gwar is correct in that any list is legal. However, this forum is available for the discussion of rules interpretations in a standard gaming context. Everyone gets the point, now argue the issue or else posts of this nature could be considered flaming.
Modquisition off.

Does anyone really enjoy playing against lash spam, nob bikers or Fateweaver builds?
I was talking about the Index Astartes articles for the original 19 legions, not a set of playtest rules released in a CA book.

Or 3rd edition Altaic rangers as a guard player, that blew. "OK send all 55 guardsmen into reserve"
Or old ulthwe "God damn invincible seer council"
Or the pure brokenness known as 3rd ed chaos
Point is there is a lot of things that were OP are gone, sadly they just get replaced my newer slightly less broken stuff.

I miss my original Ulthwe Strike Force (don't even mention the Apoc datasheet. I'll just might toss my lunch).
Back in the days when people complained about toughness 8 Wraithlords and unkillable Falcons, there was a certain joy in saying to your opponent; "Relax, mate. Neither is allowed in my army".

I see you are dead set in regards to your opinion which is wrong. I question if you even know what I am actually addressing here. The rules for FT did gnerate more DC but not necessarily more DC with power fists... You would often wind up pulling more of the basic Marines after a sergeant was chosen. This could leave a unit(s) under 50% such that they were no longer scoring. These rules had many restrictions such 0-1 heavy support for the choice of tanks and dreadnaughts.
I was referring to the trial rules for a pure DC army which appeared in a Codex Chapter Approved tome... Every Marine in the army went over to Death Company, ever Marine! This is a very BIG difference to say the least. If you are not familiar with these list rules then so be it but stop trying to pawn off FT as a pure DC army... It wasn't even close and that's just the way it is.

It wasn't even close and that's just the way it is. G Reading your posts you show only that you have no idea what you're talking about, the production of ever more troopers to hide the powerfists is a vast vast advantage that only someone who doesn't know how to play 40K would fail to understand. Or possible a blood angel player, seeing as they're generally deluded powergamers who used to live in the mysterious little dream world that genuinely believed that running towards the enemy was actually a disadvantage for an army with massive bonus to charging into close combat. Secondly stop lying, you have not at any point refered to the Death Company Army which is simply even more absurdly broken list than the Flest Tearers is. In your previous post you simply stated 'death company' which means the unit, if you meant the army then perhaps next time before you post you reread what you have written to check that it has something to do with that you want to say. Nevertheless, I see you are dead set in regards to your opinion which is wrong. I question if you even know what I am actually addressing here...

Hymirl, since you seem to be picking faults here, ill do the same:
I see you are dead set in regards to your opinion which is wrong.
an opinion can NEVER be wrong as its a persons view on something.
on a seperate note: whats wrong with generating death company?
its a good idea and pretty much makes people fo infantry heavy for the free models.
no worse than a sallies army taking vulkan for TL weps, or the oh so great troop choice sternguard, or troop choice nob bikerz.
