blood angels are ment to be mostly a combat army rather than a ranged army, alot of people stray away from that fact, so by making DC free for taking certain units it helps to bring back the overall blood angels feel of it, rather than red marines.

hence why the baal gets the turbocharged rules, and other vehicles dont.
hence why assault marines are a troop choice.
hence why they have the option of a furioso dreadnought.

Its amusing you take exception to those words when I use them but not when Greenblowfly used them in the preceeding post, from which I copied them word for word. Do you see what I did there? I copied your words again because they're exactly what I need. Because you dislike my posting style in this thread, and that style is an exact copy of your style, it means that you merely condem your own actions when you attack me... you must find it so frustrating to find someone you can't simply drive away by trolling, and to find every insult you throw hitting yourself.

yes, GBF does troll, just do what a smart person would do and ignore him.
if that fails, someone is running about with something i said quoted in thier siggy, that worked very well.

BA are my main army also, but it still amazes me than normal LRs can carry more than my ones.... for less points if i remember correctly, and ies i do remember that we get a few other non standard bits, but wouldnt the basics of all SM equipment be the same unless some sort of advantage was to be had( like if instead of carring the few extra guys you got supercharged engines like with the baal & Rhino...) but anyway, there are a few things that i dont get and probubly never will, probubly cos im a little dense.... or have better things to think of, like a cure for cancer... on with the science!!

I don't think a landraider really has a place in a competitive list under 2000 points. Terminators have to compete with other great choices for your elite slots such as VAS and dreadnaughts. If you taker terminators and a landraider plus possibly Corbs that is a huge hunk of points and just about everything is expensive in a Blood Angel army. I would rather spend those points VAS... they can hit just as hard and you don't have to spend all those points for an expensive transport. Back when DC were free you could field more stuff like terminators easily and still have a lot of points left over. I just don't want to build the army around terminators... If the landraider gets popped early you are going to struggle. VAS on the other hand are very mobile, can pack some serious heat and are a true terror in close combat. To me VAS actually eclispe the DC since I don't want to pay all the points for a large unit. DC are more of a shock troop now. They still hit very hard but they are not as versatile as VAS.

Obviously, one of those is wrong. Now, at this point we may not be able to determine which one is right/wrong; but it is not possible that they are *both* right.... so one has to be wrong.

It can simply come down to who you game with and if they are okay with it. Little things are often no big deal but the deff rolla is a big thing versus mech. We aren't supposed to ponder intent here so sometimes it can come down to who presents the most beguiling argument to support their case.

GBF however is wrong, and it merely entertains me to prove it attempting to claims facts are his opinon is nothing but a pointless get out clause, akin to a child claiming that in his opinon 2+2 does equal 5... it doesn't.
