I'm planning to convert a landspeeder storm for my up and coming space marine force and of course I'll need some kind of plasticard. The last time I used plasticard (for a Salamander Command Tank conversion years ago) I had a very hard time actually cutting out the plastic (can't remember what thickness it was). So here's the question: what thickness of plasticard do you use when converting? And what do you use for cutting it?

2mm is pretty difficult to cut. It takes multiple strokes with a craft knife and there is the danger of it slipping or your knife going off course if you press hard to cut .

I use card in the following thicknesses

0.25mm
0.5mm
These are easily cut with scissors or a craft knife.
1.00mm is best cut with a knife and takes a couple of strokes to do so.
2.00mm

You could try using 1mm and other plastruct components such as angle irons and girders to provide structural strength with an internal framework.

@killkrazy:

does the score and snap method work well with the 1mm and up? or do you just cut?

.5 mm and use an exacto knife if you have one handy i find they cut much better than a regular craft knife.
