hey recently i started building a deffkopta and would like to share it with you once ive finished im going to buy a box of gretchin and put them throughout the ship with a sterring weel =P

Where does da boy fit in

It looks interesting, but I am confused about the location of the boy as well. Also, its kinda hard to tell what is kopta and what is background. Maybe try and take some pictures on a white background.

I second the call for cleaner pics. Just throw some cardboard (preferably white or grey) in behiond it, and we´ll be able to see it much better.

From what I can see though, I´d do something with the blades.
It´s fine to use sprues for something creative, but disguising it better would be needed.

Some pieces of plasticard, cut up a bit so they look closer to the original deffkopta blades possibly?

where did you get those cogs and y are the guns on a wire?

I'm not sure what you were expecting by way of replies, chaos_inar. The picture you posted is nothing more than cobbled together sprue bits, some wire, and balsa wood. At this point it doesn't look orky, deff, or anything like a copta. You should make more progress with it and then update your post when the project is coming into focus.

Well tbh instead of hammering you ill make a suggestion instead ! Seeing that its all quite squarey and plain, i think you should angle the wood off towards the front to give it more shape and character, and if you do it with saw you could then use the left over parts to orkify the sides of the kopta. and try find blocks of things to chunk out the sides as welly to give it a scrappy look as well. for example small boxes or spure parts etc.

Hope those few ideas help you start to get a better hand on that model,

I dont like knocking peoples work. Infact I think of all the posts Ive made Ive only said 2 bad things about peoples projects. That being said Im still not bashing your work. Im sure somewhere under the WTF is a good idea. I dont see ANYTHING tau tho. Like I said I see rotors and the buzzsaw deal.... but nothing else really.
Like stated above, give it some more angles and make things a bit more clear. Because right now it looks like one of those box kites with a crazy rotor and some insanity sauce dumped on top.

I agree with Wolf however. However I don't think the whole box-thing will work. Flying boxes are not particularly orky. I suggest you take a look at some other ork-WIP and try to find what orks are all about, because it ain't boxes.

Hey being honest is fine. If everyone said oh hey thats uh... REAAAAAALLY good man... nice er... job!!!" then no one would ever get better. I agree tho, YOU need to google image Ork koptas and conversions and the like for a good hour gaining ideas and picture info. That will help you ALOT

maybe if you construct a new frame out of plasticard and replace the wire guns with big shootas it'lll work

yeah, is there going to be a data sheet or something for it? i kinda like chickens idea... unless theres going to be a data sheet for like a REALLY quite small carrier (which i do not find to make sense ) then itd probably be best to reduce its size and try to stay away from the box shape... and did i miss something on the wirez? they just look awfuly odd have random wires with guns on them... if you need any ideas just send me a message or something. id be glad to help you come up with a similar or completely new design... and if you want... you could make a huge carrier... and i will post a data sheet for you? i already have one from a scratch built i made along time ago... just let me know

Ah I feel like being a jack ass I am sorry. yes I know if I have nothing nice to say I should keep it to myself but... Ive seen this thing 4 or 5 times today and it just annoys me at how terrible it is.

Id suggest starting over, about the only good thing on it is the sag? That is if it is the sag after all. The guns on wires makes no sense (How would you even be able to fire such a thing?)

The rotor blade is obviously sprues just cobbled together. This hideous monster of a box with cogs could never turn as it has no back rotor whatsoever.

When you try to make a conversion (even if its just throwing something together) At least try to give it some form or function. Put some more effort into it and don't go post something that took you 15 mins or so to create because you happened to be bored.

Very interesting conversion, I can kinda see where you're going with it. Are you using any reference pics for this though?
It's usually the best way to get an idea on how something like this is going to work out.
It's got a "Chinook"-y look.

It's got that boxy shape to it, despite the one helicopter blade.

Hmmm Well I have ta agree with alot and say lay off to others...but in my two cents, I like where Granesh is going with the chinook. I would say make the rotors smaller as in thinner and maybe making a smalleer one out in the back...Those tooth pick things would work nicely, make a tee-pee like structure then add a rotor to that for the second rotor....as for guns Id say buy a Trukk, bikers, battlewagon....these loaded to da teef wiff Dakka! And that 'motavational' picture...Come on now....thats just harsh

True....more of an opion...some ork converters are really awesome.
