Some yes, but note the pic states (crappy converters). Some one that turns oh lets say a bane blade into a very nice battle wagon, or Scratch builds a gargaunt is not in that column. People that make cardboard dark eldar jet bikes are.

An attempt yes, a good one, hardly. As I stated above it looks like he spent 15 mins on it and just threw together everything he could find with no plan to it. As for me im a bad converter yes, but whne I do post something that ive converted (if ever) I would not go and post something like that. People do not want to come on and see that and frnakly, telling me a box with cogs looks good is not going to help me get better. Suggesting why I think it looks bad and why ti will nto work, will make him get better.

Also I said (very nicely I might add) That he should just start over. I did not as you seem to, constantly spew insults trying to get my point across.

Remember everyone, if you do not like someone's modeling, you need to be able to express that in a polite fashion.

It is perfectly fine to say that you think someone's conversion doesn't work at all for you, but be prepared to politely explain why or otherwise feel free not to post at all.

WITH THAT SAID, if you ever feel that someone is making an insulting post, the correct response is to click the 'notify moderator' button on that post. Responding with a swearing-filled tirade of your own is never, ever the appropriate response.

Ork vehicles may not be the cleanest-looking vehicles in the universe, but you can usually get a solid grasp of purpose and direction... I'm not seeing it here. As awesome as a scratch build could be, I'm just not seeing that level of potential here... in fact, I'm not even seeing something that looks like you had a clue as to what you wanted it to look like as a finished product.

Before you take another step towards this project, you should sit down, and just give yourself a rudimentary sketch of what you're going for... it'll help you in the long run, even if, through the creative process, it ends up being COMPLETELY different from what you had originally planned. An example of this: I bought the AoBR box a few months ago, and, being the chaos player that I am, decided that the plastic dreadnought needed to be made more corrupted and chaosy, so I started with the most obvious piece... the CCW... suffice it to say, I just took an organic approach, and despite the fact that my final product changed quite a bit in concept as I was going, it still had a direction and a final goal from the start.

I think it is... also a lot of ork converters are good (maybe including myself)

you should really start over and make a less box shaped one unless you were going for a troop carrier then you need to make a LST with rotas which would be pretty cool just loose the boxyness

Totally.

I like the idea you came up with, but it does seem a bit big for a deffkopta. Perhaps the orky version of the SM landspeeder? If I were you, I would spend a bit more time making the rotors look really clean, and then taking more sprue bits and slicing them really thin, and then attaching them to get the same feel of the AoBR deffkoptas.
Perhaps having the ork enclosed in the massive compartment is a bit too much, a smaller frame with the ork on the outside might work better, and be more true to the size of an actual deffkopta.
Good luck, and keep up the hard work!

I friggin love this model. Good use of Sprue. Keep going! No matter how it looks, you know the Orks will take it to WAR. And I am really digging this original build. With all the AOBR Koptas out there, it is a breath of fresh air to see something original.

Don't give up on your DREAM of WAAGGHH. Finish that Kopta! When it is done, paint some ORK GLYPHS on it and put MOAR GUNS on it. WAAGGHH! It will be your Battlewagon in the SKY. And while the IG are laughing at it, you can BOMB THEM! MOO HOO HAA HAA.
