I’ve been thinking about the Conqueror. Apart from when it was released (when it was good) and 4th Edition (when it was functional but overpriced) I’ve never been very impressed with my Conqueror, however in the new ‘discrete codex’ 5th edition it is actually competitively priced vs. other Leman Russ chassis and it wouldn’t benefit all that much from the new Leman Russ rule anyway. Maybe it will be worth fielding.

I wonder if any of the other Forgeworld tanks will benefit from the lull period.

I have two Conqueror. Game rules aside, I really love the turret. It is my favourite and most games I use it just as a normal Russ turret.

But what I really want is the Ryza pattern Demolisher turret. That one is sweet!!

I have a feeling the Conqueror will be made redundant when the IA: 1 FAQ comes out in May. I wouldn't be surprised if the points cost isn't much less than the Eradicator(which trades 1 point of strength for ignoring cover, so is a better tank in many regards), it would have to be significantly cheaper than both the Eradicator and the Standard Russ(something I don't see thanks to Lumbering Hulk) to be worth taking.

That said, it's a great looking turret, so I'd still use one if I had it(same reason my Executioner will see use, even at 230 points).

That is the beauty of IG tanks. You can make them your own and be proud of them. Originality is welcome with the guard. Even though they're all going to die anyway!!

I'd love to see what this new Eradicator, the new Exterminator and the Devil Dog will look like!!

The Eradicator Nova Cannon is literally the Hellhammer Cannon replacing the Battle Cannon on the Russ Turret, at least according to the leaked page scan on Heresy Forums showing the new tanks(unfortunately the front of the Punisher is cut off). The Exterminator looks exactly like the FW version(still only 2 cannons, not 4).
