I don't know how feasible this is coding wise, but is there a way to have News & Rumors & Dakka Discussions threads to lock themselves automatically if they haven't had a reply for 60 days or some similar time frame in order to avoid thread resurrections?

If you try and post in a thread that old then you will get a popup telling you it is rude, unacceptable and will get you in trouble. People have to actually ignore that to commit necromancy, so if you see it occur, post a mod alert so that they can be disciplined. We wont lock in case people have genuine things to add to old threads though.
