I advise you get the 5th ed CSM Codex and read it carefully, otherwise let us know its a 4th Ed list (which would be semi-pointless as you can't use that outside of a friendly game).

You have a major problem if you're trying to make this a 5th Ed list - No DP's in Chaos SM forces anymore! Only Lords and Sorcerors, plus maybe a GD if you can stomach the stripped down generic one with no save, not even an invunerable one that every Daemon in the Chaos Daemons Codex gets. Where you'll also find the DP - strangely enough in the Heavy Support section! Oblits are Elites anyway not Heavy, have been since 3rd ed. They've been largely nerfed anyway as they're now energy gun type only & no power fists/weapons so not much use in cc. Basically semi-mobile gun turrets that need protecting which is easier with the new 5th ed cover rules etc. Plague marines are rock hard, though they are rather expensive at 23pts each in 5th ed. Best used in conjunction with fire support from Undivided heavies or Tzeentch or cc specialists like Khorne or Slaneesh.

Umm - no, DP are HQ, Oblits are Heavy, they have a powerfist, and they are the best unit in the 5th edition CSM.

Your list is fine, but if it were me I would drop one prince, put wings and warp time on the remaining one, and drop a marine form one squad to put a pf champ in both of them.

At 1000, 2 wingless princes is < 1 winged warptime prince.

The only thing I would caution against would be if you take a winged prince, the tempation to jump forward for lash is a liability. I feel that a 2 lash list in this low of points is worth taking the 2 walking DP's, just use the Oblits or rhinos to sheild them and your flanks. Then use each as a magnet to pull units into the oblits to crush them. This type of army will be pretty defensive given the movement of the oblits but lashing your opponents forward should take care of that.

Wow, you could not be more wrong. I dont know where youre getting your information from but its all incorrect. The most recent CSM codex does contain HQ demon princes, heavy support oblits (with better weapons than pervious editions and powerfists). It seems like youre getting confused with the current CSM codex, the previous CSM codex and the new Demons codex.

@ OP:

Your demon princes need wings, its worth dropping a couple of plague marines to pay for this. Appart from that it looks good.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

I stand corrected, I've played through too many 'Dexes - since 3rd Ed in fact .

The Oblits can of course get cover from the Plague Marine squads. Might want to split them 1/1/2 with the 2 staying behind in cover for long range shooting, the rest move up slowly with the PMs, giving them supporting fire or cc clout as needed. Split into 2 units they can do both independently.

I concur on the DPs to a degree, though at 1000 points you'll probably need more troops! Just use 1 DP with Wings & Warptime, maybe Doombolt or Wind of Chaos (old Stream of Corruption from 3rd Ed remember that one - a real vomit from the past heh heh). With the rest you can also kit out 5 Chosen with say a melta or two to infiltrate and character/tank kill. Give them an IofCG and they can use its homing abilibity to call in Oblits if you want to give an opponent a nasty surpise close to his lines!

Nope, they need a personal icon to guide the oblits.

At 1000, 1 winged prince with warp time, 2 X 2 oblits, and 2 squads of rhino riding plague marines with pfed champs will beat people down low.

Ah I see, so drop one daemon prince and put upgrades on the other one and the two remaining squads. What do you guys think of Defilers in this list? I could run 2 obliterators and 1 defiler, or would it be better to just stay with the four oblits?
