You know, Necron Phalax, Space Marine Armored Company, Tyranid Assault, thing. etc.
Were these any good? My friend wants to buy one and he's not sure if they're any good since he's new.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

Depends on how much of a deal you want to work for. I've stripped my lowest prices off ebay, but that can be, relatively speaking, a lot of hassel for the cost savings. Especially if you end up dealing with a fecal bag. Also, you may be buying models that will need a lot of work. If you want the best deal on new kit, I would buy one of the larger deals from thewarstore or another online vendor. I use the warstore and my FLGS. I do a lot of business with my FLGS because he's got a kick ass place to play and I wish to do my part to finance it. Because he could always just say feth it and open a computer store or some such gak.
As far as the retail prices on the stuff from GW, comparing retail to retail? Break out a calculator. If you are getting the models you want, you can end up with some stupid good deals. Like the Tank company deal they halted back in January. 275 for 10 leman russ. They go for 40-45 (??) apiece, individually. Now, if you actually NEED or WANT TEN of them, then it's a great savings.
Then there is always the factor that GW is raping us on price in the first place, so the "savings" we are seeing on the large deals is really more of a "right-sizing" than anything else. Well, the reality of it is that there are PLENTY of venues with a variety of pricing levels that you can buy your crack from. Pick the one that works best for you.

Does anyone remember the name of the box that had a Chaos Terminator lord and 15 Terminators for $75. I wanted to get one but I can't remember what it was called.

Dakka. You need more of it. No exceptions.

What are you talking about? They're Space Marines, which are heroic. They need to be able to do all the heroic stuff. They fight aliens and don't afraid of anything. -Orkeosarus
