Here is my completed defenc(s)e laser that I'll be using in our next apoc game. It was fairly easy to make and paint, I did it in a day. Most of it is plastic plumbing parts from the hardware store and the upper platform is from my old GI joe base I had as a kid + various cities of death bits
I kept the base flat because I care about pure playability, not having it be excessively flashy .. If models cant position or get knocked over I consider it annoying

Thanks.. I used a pipe piece that had nozzle attached to the bottom portion which made it look like a gun .. Then i used a turret from the shadow sword box and some wiring

Thats pretty nice, and it looks simple enough to make too!
Thanks for sharing your coolness. You've made me jealous cos all my scenery is still unpainted and not as cool as yours. But if I'm encouraged to make some cool scenery then you've done the right thing!
keep it going!

Thats great looks like something from a Bond film " No Herr Reaver we expect you to die Bwahahaha".

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

I like that yours really looks imperial. A problem I've had with mine is that I set it in a mountain, as such it somewhat lacks any particular theme. Any recommendation? (you can see more photos in my gallery).

Towering Hierophant Bio-Titan

Kirasu, I've looked at this a few times today. I liked it and I still like it.
I have two tiny problems:
1)The ground floor could do with a couple of flat sheets just to give it texture. (Shouldn't affect gameplay at all.)
2)Paint scheme. I don't think it needs the red 'warning' barrel. Who would get in the way of that??????

I like it but I feel like the gun needs to be higher and as well have some sort of large capacitors or something, that provide the charge for the large gun.

Thanks for the ideas about the guitar wirings.. yeah the base will be finished when I do all the bases for my apoc terrain.
Im just waiting on when I do the actual table
As for ideas.. buy old school 1980s GI joe bases :p Thats what the upper platform is then add some cities of death bits
Plastic plumping fixtures are really good too.. Those are what i used for the base
Cant help with foam sculpting as Im not a real good sculptor I mostly just find stuff and put it together

I think it looks perfect as is, and would be perfectly happy using a similar piece in any apocalypse game I played in.
But if you needed to more with it I think all you really need is the right piece stryofoam to mount it on. slap a couple of ladders/steps up to your platform with some guardrails and it would address your "height" issues. Anything that can fire into the atmosphere does not need to be mounted any higher and if it is mounted on the "ground" any powersource could exist under it withou needing any sort of modeling and in fact would more than likely be kept somewhat separate from the weapon anyhow.
