I know its not a skimmer, an its sorda tall, I dont know, I just want to know what people are feeling about this... heres a link to the post check it out, its really awesome... http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/234582.page

This is hardly a rules question but anyway.

You have to ring the TO and ask first. That is the only way you will know because all tournaments are different.

A better place would be Dakka Discussions, but regardless...

It's a Nice battlesuit. I wouldn't use it as a Hammerhead, but as a Broadside Team Leader it might be rather awesome.

Umm I think your sense of scale might be a bit off there Gwar, that thing is a behemoth compared to a broadside.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Its like a Tau Battle Titan for Apoc. someone could make up a Data Sheet for it, get opponent aproval and then you could field it. Else put it out on show and say...look at my Tau Battle Titan.

This is because its well early in the morning, I have a hangover the size of Oprah's ass, and there isn't anything to show what kind of scale it is. A firewarrior by the foot or a ruler or something.

You could see if you could make up an apoc datasheet yes, or failing that use a actual titan datasheet (perhaps one of the smaller titans) and use the magic of counts-as.

The devilfish fuselage that makes up its chest is a bit of a clue

I'd be fine with it as a hammerhead. Just treat it as having jumpjets to satisfy the skimmer rules.

But that's a personal opinion. You can get as many personal opinions as you want online, and it still won't guarantee that the guy who actually winds up standing opposite you at the table will like it, or that a given tournament organiser will allow it.

From my experience, though... most people are ok with conversions and stand-ins, so long as the model you're using is reasonable.

It's.... impressive in terms of modeling and I'd say it does do a rather impressive job of following the feel and look of Tau.

Insofar as using it in a game, so long as no one tries to say any funny business as to it's effect, field it as a Hammerhead. Although, it'll be lit up like a Xmas tree given how tall the bloody thing is.

Another option would be to make up, as said, an APOC datasheet as some kind of super crisis suit, experimental and whatnot.

QFT, I understand, I just wanted to see how people would feel, and what applications may apply. In my opinion its just too cool not to do something with, man, awesome. But anyways, I wonder, can you still use the old vehicle design rules? Or have they been updated by these datasheets, sorry, a lot has happened since my hyatus...

London (work) / Pompey (live, from time to time)

would i allow it: of course i fething would!
its a great model thats taken alot of time and though, and ended up with an amazing result.
the person hardly build this to gain any benefit (or to save money)

would everyone allow it: im not too sure here, im sure theres allways TFG that would be more than happy to bitch and whine about it either because;

A: he is jealous
B: he is just a dick

I'd love playing against a huge battlesuit, no matter what rules you use for it. Hammerhead feels like the least horrible thing it could represent...

The Vehicle design rules are unfortunately not valid at all any longer. Feel free to use them as a guideline when creating your own rules, but remember that they give at least 25% higher points cost than a similar vehicle from a premade datasheet.

They were only ever optional rules that required opponent's permission to use, so they're no more or less valid now than they ever were.

Good point. I do however think that they are even more off pointswise now, compared to when they were created. Most vehicles have gotten cheaper the last 5 years.

Regardless, It would be nice if they would come up with another chapter approved, or atleast a new vehicle design rules.
