With a Basilisk kit and some larger diameter plastic tubing (and a tube cutter tool), this would seem a relatively simple conversion, especially if you invent your own 'pattern' for the sheild and gun details.

Here's my version of the Griffon:
http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s319/agamemnon667/Betty/betty02.jpg
A very crude conversion, in that the mortar doesn't even have a breech or other worky bitz, but so far nobody has noticed.
http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s319/agamemnon667/Betty/betty04.jpg
The rear compartment is pretty simple, just a bunch of sheet styrene and random bitz. There's no crew as of yet. The Griffon mortar comes off, and I can replace it with a Salamander Scout autocannon or Salamander Command heavy flamer. And the entire rear compartment slides out, for when I want to field the vehicle as a Hydra instead.

Nice stuff, Agamemnon2! I've been pondering this question, too and you've got a nice example. I'm trying to figure out how to build mine out of built and poorly painted Chimeras I got in a trade, though...

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack |

Agammemnon2, I wouldn't worry about that: mortars don't have breeches anyway!

I'd buy the new HE chariot for the lion body, then use the heads and wings from an eagle. The problem is it's hard to bond the metal and plastic.
I think Reaper makes a griffon but then you can't use it in GW events.
medusa would take a lot of green stuff.

Take a Harley.
Ship to Adelaide (Oz).
Have the boys strip it down and rebuild it completely (and convert most of that lost power to actual power you can use).
Et Voila, one Griffin (viking).
I'm thinking the OP was referring to the big arty boom-booms, though.
