I have always liked the army of the dead, and now that they have been released in plastic I would like to get some.

Are there new rules? If so in what book? I have the old rules in Army Builder. I ask because you can now give them spears and there is a metal banner model.

Thanks for any help!

There are new rules for them in the War of the Ring book. They have pretty average stats, but a few special rules that make them especially deadly against high defense targets, and make them very maneuverable.

You can also use the models as the "Ghostly Legion" in Angmar lists too.

They all count as having hand weapons now, but they attack your opponent's courage, and are one of the fastest units in the game. (oh and they float through terrain and models)

Putting together an 'Angmar' army myself as they army of the dead are a 'common formation' rather than a 'rare' one which is what they are counted as if you use them as the good version...

Angmar is tempting for me too. Love the army of the dead and especially the riders of the dead, and I also like the shades, and barrow wights, and Burhdur.
