I put up an idea there
http://wargamesfactory.lefora.com/2009/04/07/near-future-light-vehicles-hummers-strykers-etc/page1/#post7871162
basically asking for 28mm hummers/strykers/light military vehicles.
Would dakkites be interested in a project like this?

Something other than a Hummer would be great, last thing we need is an increase in roadside bombs in our games of 40k.

A generic 8-wheeled APC might be a good choice. They all pretty much look the same:
Boxer MRAV
Stryker (related to the LAV-III family)
BTR-series
Patria AMV
Terrex AV-81
A model that could take either a full turret with autocannon (for an IFV version) or a remote weapons station (for an APC version) would be ideal.

Looks like there is interest in two different designs from this thread: One is a APC, the other a dedicated light scout vehicle.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

They could always be modular... where the last axle and wheels are connected to a hull portion that extends the chassis. So you have a 6 wheeled scout vehicle or an 8 wheeled apc.
This is an example of what I mean... I picked the boxiest one cause that'd be the easiest to work this way:

Not a hummer per se, but something that does the same job. It also avoids potential IPR issues.

The front of that is a Land Speeder, with the classic rhno minesweeper. I can't quite place the wheels, although I suspect they're the ones from an Ork Buggy. Some of the back bits are from the chimera sprue, but I can't place all of it. I think plasticard would have played a part in the back.

Hi KidKyoto,
Have you considered Old Crow models? They produce several vehicles in 25mm, which I have seen are quite comparable in size to 40k models, particularly the MBT.
If you're aiming for scenery vehicles etc, they are a good resource that I would recommend. Make a decent alternative in the mean time.

Tael.

good point, I hadn't checked them in a while and forgotten how good they are.
And hey, Vulture fans!

But I don't really see a hummer type vehicle.

Fair point, I do like those 'Geckos' Scout cars I must say.
I prefer the second VTOL, it has a more readily integrated utilitarian nature about it.

I'd be interested in something like this. Here is a picture of something to consider.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

Is the Scout transport landspeeder coming out soon, or did that get canned?
As I recall it was a longer-bodied LS that would be easy to convert in the same way as the LS-buggy above.

You can also see another take on those "buggies" in the army profiles, from the Best Appearance at the Balt GT

I believe he talks about their construction in the profile.
