The local group I play with has been talking about doing an apoc game for some time, and now that we convinced the owner of the venue we play at to give us the entire day, we are in full prep mode.

My task is building a bridge between tables, similar to the one in the Apoc rule book. I was looking to make it around 15 to 20 inches long (we also liked the idea of skimmers being able to fly across the gap), which should still give even some of our chunkier players room to move between the tables. Now I am still in the planning stages, but what would be the best material to go around doing this with? Im kind of figuring a sized piece of plywood or some other strong plank that I can still drill/nail the decorative parts to. I was also thinking of having a second story walk way on one side for troops.

As I didnt see anything (through the searches at least) what would be Dakka's recommendation?

Painting will not be my responsibility as I am a horrible painter.

Your best bet is the plywood as a base, its cheap and you can possibly get scraps at a home improvement store for cheap.

A basic Trestle bridge is the easiest to construct and use in a game of Apoc. Hit up a local hobby store for their model train area and go nuts for ideas and building materials.

if it was me I'd drop something under the bridge to nestle against the sides of each table, then build in some sort of gcramp to secure the bridge.

It'd be a bugger if someone bumps into a bridge with a few hundred quids worth of models on it.
