Recently, I've been flipping through my Daemonhunter's Codex and after a few thoughts, I believe that I've found the answer for a legal LAtD Codex.
Ok.
Inquisitor Lord: Some kind of Chaos Marine Lord, or Evil Preacher with Retinue.
I wouldn't use Grey Knights, Too Expensive.
Now, for all those who want Chaos marines, use either normal marines or Black Templar Marines. Obviously, you can change this.
Inquisitorial Storm Troopers can be your Traitors and/or Mutants. Don't take space marines and use guardsmen conscripts as mutants or etc.
Inquisitor can be some kind of Aspiring Champion with Retinue. Heck, use 'em as "Mutant Slavemasters" with the warrior entries as "Mutants" or Heavy Bolter Servitors accompanying a "Dark Mechanicus" Adept or something.
Daemonhost is, obviously, a Daemonhost.
Death Cult and Assasination Operatives could be something like the Evil Preacher's "Trainee's" er something
Greater Daemons, I'm not too sure about. good luck with this one, honestly.
well, that aside, what do you think? Great Idea? or not too great one??

Unsettlingly ronic. I like it. Although it means I'll have to purge your heretical ass.
For assassins, you can use Death Cultists just as they are, since there are also death cult assassins who worship chaos(the scum!).

wow... I really think this would work, which is awesomely ironic... i have to pitch this idea to my local ultrasmurf/daemonhunters player... he'll find it hilarious (or try to burn me, we'll see)
Oh and you can actually use a chaotic dread that won't kill your own guys

Although it would be kind of strange when your chaos worshippers have advantages against the forces of Chaos...

Simple: Either A: They're fighting against a rival warband B: Malal returns! Mwahahahahahaa! Edit (I've posted an army list, if you're curious)

If you wanted to play a LaTD army, wouldn't Imperial Guard be a better foundation? Only because of the HUGH number of troops you could field.....not to mention the fluff! GW would have us believe that IG units turn chaos every other week....
....its Easter Bank Holiday in the UK right now, and I'm drunk, so if I've missed the point completely, forgive me!

Daemonhunters? No.
Witch Hunters? Heck yeah.
Mainly because WH give you access to a cheap, expendable horde unit - ZEALOTS. Big hordes of unwashed bodies that can carry a number of Eviscerators (Power Fists).

Blue, point me out to these Zealots. I don't see them in the Army book.

I find that witch hunters represent lost and the damned best. Daemonhunters have daemon hosts, and assassins could be good, but witch hunters have all the human stat line units that can represent a huge variety of traitors, mutants, and heretics.

They were a White Dwarf add-on because people liked the equivalent that was in the old Chapter Approved Codex.

LatD can be played as WH/IG, IG/WH, IG/DH, or DH/IG. Really, you have lots of options once you start down the "counts as".
Personally, I suggest IG and WH as you get the WH fighty stuff along with loads of regular dudes.
