I've seen lots of tutorials on how to do weathering on tanks, and trucks, and other ground vehicles. The question I have is what kind of weathering can you do to a skimmer? I have an all air cav Tau army that I'm working on until the valkryies get released and would like to be able to do something to them besides simple engine burns.

I'd imagine skimmers would spend a lot of time skimming over vegetation etc - especially in a war zone. As such the leading edges would be pretty scuffed up.

Would add some narrative to pieces.

Scuffs are good, you could still do dirt, I assume the gray tech creates some sort of backwash in the air. Maybe the paint should just be more faded there, like UV damage?

Look for pics of modern aircraft. The weathering should be more subtle than on tanks with direction of airflow showing in the smudges.
