Crank: High Voltage.

Okay, the thread title might be tad over the top, but 2 hours ago when I sat in the cinema it really felt that way.
I'll make this quick: If you liked Crank 1, you're gonna love this movie. It's loud, it's outrages, very brutal and fething insane!
But it's not only a good action film, but as with the previous film, there are a lot of little touches with intersting styles and visuals which make clear that this is actually more than it seems. The 4th wall gets broken a few times and there are some nice movie quotes. And a Macguffin wasn't this much fun since the case in Pulp Fiction.

And I wouldn't believe it when I read it in the credits: The old chinese guy is David Carradine.


So, yes, I liked it. But be prepared, this movie is not for the faint of heart (pun intended).

I and She Who Must Be Obeyed liked the first actually.

Then you might enjoy this one as well. But you have been warned, it's very over the top.

Ace. I bloody loved Crank! People may have called it brainless but Is it any more stupid than any of the 80's action movies we all know and love?

Think about Commando, think about Cobra or about Universal Solider. Does Crank really seem so brainless now?

It was totally wild and over the top which is just what you want from a kick ass action movie. It was like someone had poured a vile of testosterone over some 8mm film.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this. I'm also please that a British actor is becoming possibly the most profitable action movie star of the new century.

If you want to watch a fethed up movie watch "philosophy of the knife" its based on actual events.....

Well, as I said before, there are a lot of little things that make this movie stand out from the usual brainless summer movies like in the first one, his ringtone in the first movie for example.

And Fraz, I thought you didn't want to see Watchmen because in that one "review" I posted, the "reviewer" listed every gruesome act of violence in the movie.

If you guys really want to see something "hardcore" you should watch "Man bites dog". The child killing scene really gets ya....

I think we just want to see hardcore stuff one can still laugh about Ghetto. Even die-hard action fans have their limit.

Well I caught Crank 2 today.

Let me tell you something folks if you though Crank was gratuitous, far too violent, exploitative or in bad taste then stay away from High Voltage! For in comparison to this the original is a shining example of mind mannered restraint.

And you know what I loved every last explosive, insane, borderline racist/homophobic second. Tis the very definition of gun porn. Oh and Amy Smart spends the whole movie wearing next to naff all.

Turn you brain off and your senses on. This film rocks.

An idea was just birthed in my mind. Set up a movie screen and projector at the range and use it as target practice. Its expensive but combines two things in one just like that jar of peanut butter AND jelly.

Sorry, too late they already have that, and it is expensive.

Nothing says target practice like shooting moving pictures.

Its a tactical setup. There are military versions and civvie versions. We're talking several large to take a class though, IIRC.

I was talking about like the screens at the movie and putting holes into the screen itself while trying to shoot anyone you don't like in the movie.
