Subject: So, how would you fix this problem with a titan arm?

A while back I purchased a Vulcan Mega boltr off of ebay. Sadly, I think it is a forgery. The molding on it was very clean and the color of the resin was right for some of the older stuff i bought but there were two things that just did not seem quite right. The first one being that the pin that holds the pivot pint on the arm was replaced with a paperclip. I inquired about that and he said that the original pin was rusting due to living near the sea. ok... that is believable... if a bit of a stretch. The second thing though that is more questionable as to whether this was a real piece or not is that it would not accept the bolt used to put it on. A hole was there but it was smaller than the bolt which is the proper armorcast titan bolt, and appeared to have no threads. I tried taking it to a hardware store of all places to see if they had some kind of drill bit to try and drill out a hole to accept the bolt. The guy took it back to their work section for a few minutes and came back with the bolt in but it is not loose enough to be useful for easy assembly/disassembly, like all the other weapons are.
How would you go about making the hole that the bolt goes into just a little bigger to accept the bolt and be able to assemble it on the fly for ease of storage and transport.
I have ha magnets suggested before but i am not too keen on them as a solution for a project this size for a few reasons.

He probably used a Die and\or tap to create the treads. You could take it the rest back to have the hole enlarged and the threads enlarged on the titan.
Or use buy\get a tap of the correct size and do it yourself
EDIT: Heres some info on what a tap and die are http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tap_and_die

I did ask if he could enlarge it a tad more but he wouldn't out due to not wanting to damage the part. I think I will need to get a tap and try to do it myself.

Is it going on a Reaver or a Warhound? A friend of mine modeled his Warhound so instead of removing the bolt to change arms. You could remove a custom pin from the elbow rather then the shoulder.
I am going to try the same trick. Undoing the bolt all the time really wears down the thread. One of my Warhounds now has his arm glued on at the shoulder because the thread ended up getting stripped

Both actually... I am painting all my titans up in the same legion colors so the weapons can be swapped. I have not had a problem with the bolt threads loosening on either titan and they are 12 and 13 years old.

i probably just over tightened mine and striped them. but leaving the arms mounted and using a pin at the elbow worked quite well for my friend and would save you from having to find the right sized drill and tap saves a little wear and tear

There are these things called thread certs they are metal spring like things you get a kit it comes with a special tap glue in the thread cert and you have no further problems with the resin striping out.
