Okay, just poking around the Interwebs and I found a website entirely devoted to Warhammer 40k at Origins Game Fair (aptly named 40korigins.com)! They have a 1750 RTT listed as an even they're going to be running, using these rules.

Here's the first generation of my list:

HQ-Sorcerer- Mark of Tzeentch, Warptime, Wind of Chaos, Personal Icon-190
Elite- Terminators(5)- Icon of Tzeentch, Powerfist, Chainfist, Combi-melta (2), Heavy Flamer- 225
Elite- Dreadnought- Multi-melta- 100
Troop- Thousand Sons (9)- Doombolt, Personal Icon- 259
Transport- Rhino- 35
Troop- Chaos Space Marines (9)- Icon of Tzeentch, Meltagun (2), Aspiring Champion, Powerfist- 250
Transport- Rhino- 35
Troop- Lesser Daemons (9)- 117
Heavy Support- Vindicator- Daemonic Possession- 145
Heavy Support- Defiler- 150
Heavy Support- Land Raider- Daemonic Possession- 240

Total- 1746

I'd like to try to keep this list fluffy, yet at the same time make it fairly competative. I'd rather not get demolished at my first tournament .

I had a long personal debate with myself in regards to the Chaos Space Marine squad, but in the end the extra Melta won out over take the sacred number. On the other hand, if I took out the Melta+Marine, the Sorcerer could chill with them instead of the Thousand Sons. What do you think?

I left the Land Raider as Heavy Support to give myself more flexibility in deployment. I guess the Sorcerer could always ride solo in it .

I've geared out the terminators to kinda serve as an all-purpose unit. I'm still not sure about the loadout, I've considered swapping the Pfist for another Chainfist.

The Lesser Daemons are mainly to protect the Thousand Sons and/or act as nice scoring sissies in a treeline.

I've got a nine man Chosen unit with five Plasma Guns, another Rhino, a Lord of Change, a Terminator Sorcerer, and a couple more power armored guys (including a Champion with PSword). I'm also open to buying some more units.

Hah! I've stunned you all speechless with the incredibly fluffy, yet competative forces of the Architect of Fate.

That's very close to my army list. I think the second one is better in terms of fluffyness. In fact I like the second one a lot better than the first anyways.

...I really don't like normal CSM

What sort of tactic do you plan on using with your Dreadnought w. the Multi-Melta, with such a powerful weapon I would be concern that he could tear up one of your own units if you rolled a 1.

I wouldn't even take the dread and just take more termies or maybe more thousand sons cuz you need more troops?

Like the lesser daemons for a Tzeench army though, pretty cool.

i agree with dropping the dreadnaught, drop him for a greater daemon or more troops

Well, if I don't want to sacrifice a 75 point, Sorcer Commanding Aspiring Sorcerer, so the GD is out. As for more troops, I'd need to buy another set of Daemons and cut something else out to get to the sacred nine. I'll playtest this list a couple times then try with some proxied Gene Daemons (or Lesser Stealers). If I don't cut the Dread out, I am looking for something to use to convert the Stormbolter to a Heavy Flamer (Crazy Igor is a AoBR dread with a daemon face, symbol of Tzeentch, and Tzeentch banner on top).

I'm worried about swarms, do you think I have enough firepower to take out Swarmy Orks? I've got two pie-plates plus the bolter fire and a Heavy Flamer.

What does the Daemonic Possesion do because if against Daemonhunters the Land Raider counts as a Daemon so it's a lot easier to destroy. Which defeats the point of a Land Raider. Also you would want to keep the Vindicator. But again think about Daemonic Possesion.

Make it easier for Daemon Hunters to destroy???? I've never even seen a Daemon Hunters player, and I'd imagine I'll see one tops at Origins. Anyways, how does it make it easier to destroy? I highly doubt it will outweigh the beneifts of possession.

I am a Daemonhunters player and Daemonic Possesion on a Chaos vehicle then makes them count as a Daemon. It says this in the codex. This then allows us to use all our psychic powers and special weapons on it. e.g We can get 3D6 armour penetration with re-rolls to hit and wound. Also the psyker gains S8 against it if in close combat.

3d6 AP? Pick highest or all three? And with what strength weapon?

Strength eight isn't that reliable against a LR, even less against a Daemon Possessed one.

While those aren't nice to have happen, the benefits are still too great, especially with the rarity of DH players.

Okay, how's this look?

HQ-Sorcerer- Mark of Tzeentch, Warptime, Wind of Chaos, Wings -205
Elite- Terminators(5)- Icon of Tzeentch, Powerfist, Chainfist, Combi-melta (2), Heavy Flamer- 225
Troop- Thousand Sons (9)- Doombolt- 254
Transport- Rhino- 35
Troop- Thousand Sons (9)- Doombolt- 254
Transport- Rhino- 35
Fast Attack- Raptors- Flamer (2), Icon of Tzeentch- 230
Heavy Support- Vindicator- Daemonic Possession- 145
Heavy Support- Defiler- 150
Heavy Support- Land Raider- 220

Total- 1753

I'll admit, I've been thinking about getting something fast for a while. Hmmm, need to drop three points. I could trim down the Terminator squad or drop Possession off the Vindy. If I drop the Possession I can also upgrade the Sorcerer's Wings to a Disc of Tzeentch or upgrade the Flamers to Meltas or upgrade the Wings to a Disc and upgrade one of the Flamers to a Melta.

I will sit the other side of the Daemonic Possession fence. The negatives it gives versus 1 army, does not outweigh the benefit it gives for all the others. It looks like the purpose of your LR is to get it across the field and Daemonic Possession helps with this, since its already hard to pen AV14, you are looking at glances and with the -2, you are looking at a very resilient tank! This goes double for the Vindicator since it make it more resilient, keeping it shooting a little longer. I am for Daemonic Possession on AV13+ Chaos Armour

O H I am in the Webway...

Uhhh yeah don't worry about daemon hunters rofl no one plays them and those that do normally can't play well, trust me I played a pure DH force for a while and it sucked. LR rush is scary though.

Anyway you need DP lol... I actually like your most recent list. The raptors do really add some anti-horde firepower to the mix (along with 2 pieplates lol)

Going triple LR thousand suns might be an idea to sink your teeth into, that would be just nasty!

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you

Lol, triple Land Raider? Naw, I only have one LR at the moment.

Dropping the DP on the Land Raider had more to do with fitting in the Raptors at the sacred number. Course, with the Sorcerer hanging with them, he'll be the tenth member. So, I drop the squad down to nine men, add the Disk for the Sorcerer and I'll have seven points.

HQ-Sorcerer- Mark of Tzeentch, Warptime, Wind of Chaos, Disc of Tzeentch- 215
Elite- Terminators(5)- Icon of Tzeentch, Powerfist, Chainfist, Combi-melta (2), Heavy Flamer- 225

Daemonic Possession does not give the Land Raider the Daemon special rule in the current Chaos Codex. I don't own the Daemonhunter and I'm not sure how the 2 would interact.

Also... interestingly enough... Lesser Daemons, Greater Daemons and Daemon Princes are NOT classified as Daemons... and as far as I've been told, all those fantastical abilities that affect Daemons will not work on them because RAW they are not Daemons.

There aren't enough bodies. Everything can get shot and die pretty easily.

Quoting the DH codex:

Throughout this codex, the term Daemon refers to the following units: All Daemonhosts, Greater Daemons, and Daemon Packs, Daemon Beasts, Nurglings, Daemonically Possessed Vehicles (suck as Defilers) or those with Parasitic Possession, Daemonic Possession, Living Vehicle, or Mutated Hull upgrades, Eldar Avatar, Possessed Chaos Space Marines, and Chaos Lords with the Daemonic Stature gift and/or over 50 points of daemonic gifts.

Just thought you'd like to know that.

The Eldar Avatar is a daemon?

Cannerus, the idea isn't to sit in the open and let the entire opposing army shoot at me. If I do things right, I should be able to hide behing terrain, tanks, and bigger infantry.

I love the list, as I am a big fan of Tzeench and the Thousand Sons. Possessed LRs are bloody annoying. My roommate shelved his Raptors a while ago, but the invulnerable save might help with the issues he had with Khornate ones.

Cool beans... I don't have the DH codex so I had no idea. I mean obviously they are Daemons but not even classified as one in the Chaos codex... Sigh.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

Just off the top of my head I think if you are taking an IoT in your termies you want some more bodies in there. 7 at least; 9 is preferred of course.

I think IoT is a great fit for Raptors. You can even put the Disc of Tzeenth in there.
