We have some new info that will be up on the website with next week's update (also this is when ticket sales will start).

We will have a Friday night (November 6) Battlefleet Gothic Tournament run by a local club. Ticket sales for this will go live with the others on July 1.

We will be hosting the Chris Bledsoe Memorial Charity Auction on Saturday night (November 7) after all scheduled gaming. All proceeds will go to a cancer research foundation. As Chris was very involved with the gaming industry, many of his past friends and co-workers have already volunteered donations. As details come from the folks running this, we will update the website.

Also there is still room for clubs to run events, space available in the dealer room, the need for staff volunteers, and the need for help building and painting scenery. If you would like to help kick off the largest new event in the North East, please drop me a line.

Thanks,
Tony Spino

Just to chime in on The MechaniCon, our club's #1 goal for the event is to make sure all attendees feel like they got their money's worth. One thing that means is LOTS of prizes thanks to our many great sponsors. We really have a huge pile of loot waiting to be handed out.

It also means we're not taking shortcuts with the gaming tables. Attendees will be gaming on new, high-quality tables with new terrain. Below you can see an example of the style of table I'm talking about (note that the terrain may differ...we can't populate 35+ gaming tables with Forgeworld stuff!).

And here's pics of the impressive piles of tables-in-progress and raw materials. Like I said, we're really going all out for this event.

And just some of the terrain in progress:

It should be a great event...hope to see Dakkaites there!

Please reconsider using VPs for all missions as the way to determine winners.... its a bad idea

frgsinwntr,

I saw your post about scoring for the event. I would be happy to chat about it with you. The scoring system has been carefully built and it is not exactly what you may think based on your posts here and at HQtC.

By using victory points (which is not always based on what you kill, in some missions the points are awarded only by the objectives achieved) a wider range of scores will be produced and it gives better support to all armies not just the ones that can work the KP system - like a 500 point nob biker unit being worth the same as a 100 point unit from another codex.

The rules pack covers the info for all games and Mission 1. I do not have access on the other forum where you posted a comment so I will reply here.

You can see that in Mission 1 you cannot max your battle score by...

This means I could show up with a really nasty min troop (read 2 39pt units of nurglings) and take a super nasty fatecrusher list for the win by tabling everyone...

The best you could do with that list and tabling your opponent is a Minor Victory (14/20) because you did not claim any objectives.

Each mission will be very similar to the main 5th edition missions and deployments. You will have to bring a list that can be flexible and can accomplish goals. Below is a snippet from the rules pack.

Missions have different levels of objectives: Primary—such as Annihilation, Capture and Control, and Seize Ground. Secondary—such as wipe out opponent’s general, wipe out troops, etc. Tertiary—such as control table quarters, occupy opponent’s deployment zone, etc.

Mission Objectives and the VPs that they reward include all the "Bonus Points" found in most common missions.

Bump hey dakkites I am doing a who will be their of all dakkites. For those of you going PM me and we can all do a meet and greet over some dinner saturday.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!
