Would it be too broken to allow a Mono-god list to take units from Codex: CSM and Codex: Daemons? Disallow unkmarkable units or something. What do you think?

As someone who has an Emperor's Children army that is currently unplayable. I'm all for it, but I'm a little biased in that regard.

I might limit the number to one big unit or a few small units. It is not imposable the chaos gods would send a bit of help.

you might make a simple rule like, "To bring a Daemon unit in any FOC choice, you must already have a non-Daemon unit for that choice."

So, before you bring Skulltaker, you have to have Kharn. Before your Daemonettes show up, you're fielding noise marines.

I'd also look at the old CSM codices, where this was in fact the norm, and look at the summoning rules and so forth.

That makes sense. Regardless, you wouldn't be fielding that many units as they'd all be pretty frikkin' expensive. I'd love to give these rules a try.

would be nice if it was possible, maybe some small restrictions like these:

host army: you must pick either CSM or daemons to be the "host army"

army layout: for each unit type you include from the host army (elite, troop etc) you may include a unit from the sub army of the same type.

example: host army is daemons, you take 3 units of blood letters and a blood thirster.
you are then allowed to take 3 troop and 1 HQ choice from the CSM list.

thats just a way to stop stupidly strong spam armies
also, you may want to add in a rule that only units with marks of the chosen gods may be taken.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

I'd be OK if Daemons could take Cult CSM as Elites.

I wouldn't be OK if CSM could summon Cult Daemons of their cheaper Icons, and then used them to assault with.
