Just curious if any one else out there names their veicles in their armies? just wondering cause i happend named my shadowsword Da juggernaught

I play a Small Space Wolves force and I have Individually named all of my models, Infantry, Vehicles, the works

I think tanks should be named for what they do on the battlefield and their performance. Therefore, my two predators will be called "Explodey" and "Blindey"

I try and name all of my tanks (Emperor's Wrath, Lance of the Khan, etc.) depending on the army and background available. My GK army consists of over 80+ GK in power armor and each one has an individual name and shoulder heraldry, also.

Naming tanks is part of the background when playing Guard. My primary Baneblade is named Victoria while my Russ tanks carry names ranging from something including "Cadia" to random names of girls back home. Some people can get a bit upset when their chaos marine commander is blown away by a Leman Russ named "Millicent"

I play guard too i named my basilisk Kenny cause it dies in a game most the time in later turns my 2 standard russ i nicked name the twins and the demolisher 1 i have i named Koolaid just cause i picture it breaking down/through walls and my baneblade named big blue and i got hellhound i named deep fried
and i have my sentinals named after the 3 stooges.

Hellhound=The Burninator
Chimera=Adept
Basilisk= Far Reach
LR=Sheila
LR Demolisher= Exterminatus

I only name them once they've achieved some feat of greatness.

My DA opponent has gone all out with the Greek names for all his stuff, Squad Zadkiel, Rhino Ephisoles etc..

Everytihng in my army is named, but I tend to change it regularly, and I don't like the eldar naming conventions, so I have Farseer Stephen Lathwell, Autarch Gary Collins. Falcon Cheeseburger, Fire Dragons team Strike Force...

hmm im tempted to make small plates with names on to put on viacles that do well in battles.

I name all my squad sergeants and junior officers after people I don't like. That way once they all start dying I can laugh and laugh and laugh until I end up in a ball on the floor crying because those people are the only people that I even interact with and the toy soldier battle going on is really just a microcosm of my failed life.

But naming tanks? That's weird. You people are weird.

I name every model in my army, still thinking for names for my tanks, but my dreads and infantery are all named

My 3 Battlewagons are:
GW: Da Wagon
Airfix 1920's Omnibus: Da BattleBus
Converted Leman Russ: Leman Bus

Airfix Fire Engine (Trukk okr Looted Wagon, loaded with Burna Boys): Da Fire Trukk.

All my Nobs are named, so I can keep track of which squad is which, and which of my Nob-Mob are injured:
Big Gob (Has Iron Jaw)
RedToof (Has a red toof ...)
Bone-'Ed (Has skull on hat)
GutRot (Sigil on belly)
etc

and of course, the long-suffering mek-boy SpannaHed

I have named all of my tau vehicles. Granted I chose names that I liked, but I like to think that they are names that fit the fluff of the Tau and the sept I choose (Elsy'eir which is a sept know for its thinkers not its warriors).

I have all my Imperial guard tanks named and numbered to make the unit feel more united. A lot of the names came from some of my favorite novels written by David Drake. with 24 tanks in my motor pool, its a lot of names. some examples: Herman's Whore, Suzie Q, Daisy town, Hula Girl, Belly Dancer, Zippo (guess what tank has that name...) Toe Tag and way more...also they are numbered based on chassis and weapons fit. 100 series are stock russ with various hull and sponson mounts, 101-111 and so forth.200 is heavy gunz, the demolisher and vanquisher, 300 is light turret mounts, Exterminator, nova cannon.411-412 is specialized chassis, like the Laser destroyer (i have 2), Chimeras fit into 500 series, hell hound type is 600, mortars are 700 and basilisk and medusa are 800 series...its easier to keep track of who got blown up in larger battles...

I did name my Demonhunter dreadnoughts.
Rusty is an old metal dreadnought.
Old Blue is an old dreadnought that I had painted up in space wolf colors that got drafted into my Demonhunter army. Whenever he kills something I shout “You’re my boy blue!”(See Old School for the reference).
And my Grey Knight dreadnought is named Lefty because I only had one arm for him for the longest time.

As I fully realise that 40K is just a game played w/ expensive little plastic men and vehicles, I don't bother thinking up names for the individual peices. I leave that and making up army fluff to those unfortunate individuals w/ no real life.
