I found this ancient mini while sifting through my old bitz box. I decided to paint him up one evening, and wanted to go with a color scheme that fit the old Rogue Trader style from this little guy's era.

For the record, he's from Space Crusade- a Milton Bradley/Games Workshop team up to make a Space Hulk style game with a younger audience in mind. From my understanding, Space Crusade was never released in the US, and is unfortunately out of print.

I love those little guys. I have/had some, along with the ED-209-looking Dread. Really nice job you did bringing one up to date.

Wow.. That takes me waaaay back. This is the game that started me on 40k.. I remember those miniatures - the Marines, Orks, Genestealers (which basically haven't changed one bit, and I know someone who still uses them in his current 40k army!), chaos and crappy that crappy dread.. I'm pretty sure i still have all of it somewhere..

Memories.. *tear rolls down cheek*

Too many armies to count now.. mainly all 40k and AoS

Cool I just found the entire box of space crusade with the rules at my local club. So that helps the brain juices to flow. Those bayonets scare me! How are you going to kill someone with that?

Wow, the memories. I still use those stealers. That is probably the best paintjob I've ever seen on a Space Crusade mini.

Thank you.

Yeah, I used those genestealers too. They became part of my 40k force, along with most of the contents of the Space Crusade box (I was really into converting the minis up, so most of them ended up in a kitbash of some sort).

From what I remember, we used those same Genestealers up through the second and third editions. I don't remember them changing until the forth ed.

The genestealers in Space Crusade probably came straight from the Space Hulk Genestealers. Those minis must have had a very long lifespan.

That reminds me, I found an ancient plastic Terminator at the same time, but I need to strip him before I can paint him up...

ebay is the only place I know where you can get them both. Space Crusade, because it was a joint project of two companies that no longer do joint projects, is not available.

Space Hulk was just a GW game, so I think you can find stuff that was released through the Fanatic/Specialist Game division. It came out in the late 80s originally, and had a sort of second edition that was released sometime in the mid nineties.

After a little searching, I found a link to some of the Space Hulk rules, but so far not all of them:

I'm not sure how much stuff you can get online, so good luck searching.

Yeah, a long while back, I cut up my androids to make bionic parts for space marines. This is absolutely the original Necron.
