I am fairly new to greenskins, and well the game in general. I have a 2000 Goblin army and I am going to play in a little tournament (friends of friends, not expecting more than 8 people) and the only restriction is we can't have named characters. So no Skarsnik. :( So I wanted to make a Night Goblin Warboss, and I want to use him as a gung-ho-kill-your-general-before-I-die-because-holy-hell-I-am-going-to-die-next-turn kind of character. I know that isn't the best, but I wanted to have some fun. You know, make heroes heroic! Well, as heroic as Night Goblins can be. Here are some possible items for him to adorn in combat: Wollopa's One Hit Wunda 15 points for 1 turn user gets 10 str. Shaga's Screamin Sword 50 points gives +1 str and +1 attack for each enemy character in 12" Martog's Best Basha 10 points +1 str, ws, and initiative Ulag's Akrit Axe 25 points reroll missed hits, +1 str in first round of combat Those all seem real solid, and I have quit a bit of options as I can have up to 100 points in magic items. Other items I wanted to use were Imbad's Iron Gnasha 30 points Grants killing blow in cc Collar of Zorga 5 points steeds and monsters must roll 6s to hit Brimstone Bauble 25 points When unit is slain, all units (friend or foe) take D6 Str 6 hits, distributed as for shooting. If the bearer is in close combat, any wounds counts towards combat resolution. Guzzla's Battle Brew 15 points with a roll of a dice, character can get some cool stuff. 1-2 character becomes stupid for rest of the game, 3-4 hatred, 5-6 hatred and frenzy. Could work well with Bauble? I reckon I only want to spend around 200 points on this guy total. Skarsnik is 206 so he would fit nicely in my army. So with the absolute basics; 50 - Squig mount 03 - light armor 53 points 30 Gnasha 50 Screamin Sword 05 Collar 85 points 55 points NGWB total 193 Then again, I could use: Gnasha Akrit Axe Collar What do you gits fink?

You can only have one of each type of magic item, so you can't run around with the brew, the bauble and the gnasha.

I see. Now I feel silly.
I'll fix my post, but what would you reckon out of my list I should take?
Killing Blow still sounds pretty sweet over the other ones, but bauble would be the funniest.

I like the bauble, but I would suggest not using your lord and general in a kamikaze fashion- a big boss is cheaper and better for it, since he doesn't rob you of a leadership bubble.

Try the 'I'm an Orc!' Gobbo warboss. Martog's Best Basha, Bigged's Kikkin' Boots and the Armour of Gork. Str 5, T 5, 5 attacks.

I think you are insane.
O&G need leadership or they run for the hills in the modern game, there are just too many fear and terror causers now.
For my NGs it is a goblin warboss or Skarsnik, there is no other option available (for tournament play).
I would go a level 4 goblin shaman if I was playing a friendly vs empire or dwarves or HEs....

Why stick a warboss on the giant squig?
So he can leap out and be shot?
So you can never be sure how far he will move each turn?
Stick you gobbo general on a wolf (if available) for the 9 inch move.

My take on non skarsnik general is to make him survive to offer Ld to the rest of the army.
So ward and armour save and mobility is essential.
FWIW Skarsnik is about the best character I've ever used. Even though he goes to battle with light armour the huge number of wounds he has allows you to throw him into a challenge and be fairly certain he'll come out on top.

I wanted to make him real haphazard tbh.
I mean I understand how important leadership is with a Goblin-centric army, but I just wanted to make it different. I don't care too much about winning this thing, I just want to see if I can kill something quick and die and have a good laugh about it. I can sit him on a wolf, sure.
And yes I agree, Skarsnik is a total bad ass.
Waaagh_Gonads wrote:I think you are insane.
I will take that as a compliment!
Thanks for your input, I will definitely take what you've said into consideration when I play a normal game.
