I figured id start my fists blog with my hq that i recently finished, so heres my chaplain in terminator armour which i think is one of the best and meanest looking models the space marine range has..











The top of his crozius was crushed when i was half way through painting him unfortunatly, hence the small gouge in it, hope you guys like it, il hopefully have a scout squad, scout bike squad and dreadnaught up within the next week or two, any painting advice would be greatly appreciated also.

Looks great. Always good to see someone having a go at the Fists.

One thing though, I'd add some writing to the scrolls and purity seals.

sorry its been a long time since i was meant to post more but iv been contracted to do roughly 400 black templars so iv been focussing on them, but heres my dreadnaught and scout squad i just finished-

And here's the question you should have expected: How did you get the yellow to look like it does?

Its all been a bit of trial and error, as id never painted a ful yellow army before.
The scouts were painted

1. base coat of vomit brown
2. ogryn flesh wash
3. iyanden darksun

highlight
1. 50/50 bleached bone iyanden
2. bleached bone

For the dreadnaught i used tausept ochre as a basecoat..
but lately iv found that snakebite leather works best for a basecoat and it elimanates the ogryn flesh wash and makes for a stronger yellow like on the landspeeder.
highlights have always been as above.

It's interesting to hear how you painted the yellow. Some people like to do it this way:

1. Base coat of Iyanden Darksun.
2. Gryphonne Sepia Wash.
3. Layer Iyanden Darksun.
4. Highlight 50/50 Iyanden Darksun and Golden Yellow.
5. Extrem highlight Golden Yellow.

...However, I find this route to be slightly unnatural, as if the Golden Yellow is sepparate from the Iyanden Darksun. Your way, in my opinion, looks better.

BTW, I'm liking the battle damage. I've always prefered everything to be nice and clean, but I really want to give it a go now. Looking at other people's examples really helps!

Thanks, iv thought about golden yellow a few times but i don't think it'd blend to well with iyanden.
I've never really bothered with battle damage on my previous armies (apart from orks) but it seems imperial fists dont seem to look right without it.
