And so the Chapter Master and his brave small band of space marines bravely held their ground against the mighty Hive Mind and tales of their bravery would carry on across the ages.

Many a Space Marine taught never to retreat, never to surrender. Taught that death on the battlefield in service to the Emperor was the greatest glory they could achieve in his life.

The universe will know that Space Marines stood against a Broodlord, that few stood against many, and before this battle was over, even a synapse creature can bleed...

nice battle and this sad epar. the 'stealer army was apparetly unstoppable. SM were unable to deal with this "rending" thread without any heavy armored units such as Land Raider Cursader or Redeemer. otherwise, the circumstances of this battle would be changed, or tide this game up.

I dont understand why the sm player didnt castle up in the middle. Would have given him/her time to shoot the crap out of your stealers. Ah well, they should learn their lesson next time...always good to see nids win!

I didn't think a Broodlord could outflank since it doesn't have the ability...

He could have just make a line to stop you from coming on the table...

Pitched battle makes this possible, even with a marine army (and especially since you did not have a single model on the table at the beginning, or a single lictor to distract.

Even without doing this cheap thing, he should have castled in the middle, and use his first turn to move far from the edges.
He obviously did not know how to deal with this army.

Nice batrep though, as usual.

ps: a broodlord can infiltrate, so it can outflank.

So the Marine player had something to do besides remove casualties?

- space marines can't cover all the sides specially not at lower point limits so the strategy you suggest would be impossible. As a matter of fact that's exactly what the red shirt suggested and the reason why my opponent suffered so many casualties to begin wit.
