Since learning of the Nob Bikerz demise as a viable army I have since been foced to seek out another way to play Orks. Here is something I made fiddling with the codex. Is it any good?

I would drop the burnas and eavy armour from the meks to start with (dont really want the meks in combat, or they will die, and then you lose a KFF)
between cybork and the KFF there isnt much use for eavy armour.

if you need a semi crazy idea then heres one:

try dropping a mek and take a warphead instead (i know, scary thought)
with the amount of combat units you have then no matter what power he uses it will have some use.
and if you get a waaagh! then great, you then have a horde of boyz moving even faster.

Much better now
gives it a solid build to start with.

throw the warphead with 20 slugga boyz and he will work wonders.
with any luck you will get them to deepstrike on the 1st turn (or even a waaagh!)
and being a warphead theres an amazing chance he wont kill himself in the game
he can fight in combat (and possibly will do most games)

he has so many functions its amazing (anti tank, anti-troop, additional movement)

ive been toying with an idea of running 2 warpheads in a list

Shouldn't he instead run with the 30 man squad? as the 20 man are all in battlewagons?

If you are taking him then the bigger the unit the better, however, he would make more use slugga boyz due to the extra attack in CC.
when certain powers are used then slugga boyz would gain alot more from it than shoota boyz.

I can try with either or as I'm working on a squad of boyz that use the old shootas (the ones with handlles) on their backs so they can count as either or.

That should work fine then

Any tips, tactics, things I should look out for?

The Warphead getting a Waaagh doesn't make your units run faster, it just lets you assault afterwards. Deepstriking 20 Boyz is probably awesome, until someone takes out a heavy flamer, Vindicator, Russ, Bassie, Whirlwind, Hammerhead etc etc and splutches most of your unit. Deploying in convenient blast marker formation hurts I reckon.

As if that whining wasn't enough, I suggest you scrap the Rokkits for your Shoota boyz. If they shoot at a tank you're wasting the infantry-killyness of 26 Boyz, and that can't be good.

I play
40k: Evil Sunz Orks, Word Bearers Chaos Marines
WHFB: practically never, but Beasts of Chaos and High Elves a few years ago
Flames of War: US 2nd Armoured Tank Company
Too much Xbox 360

Rokkits are much better off on Slugga Boyz, because their shooting isn't too impressive against infantry.

So change the Shootas to Sluggas? I'll have to playtest them both as I can try with either I have a squad of boyz that use the old shootas (the ones with handlles) on their backs so they can count as either or.
