Alright, I haven't posted in here in a while, and for that I apologize. This is... most of the stuff I've neglected to post since my last thread. I'll try to update the first post of this one, as well as many a new reply, when I put up more stuff. Critiques are more than encouraged, although I don't plan on painting any more marines(1500 points was more than enough for me).

Reverse chronological order from when I painted these, roughly.

Random AoBR nob I spent today painting

Some random guardsmen, testing the scheme

I went too far with this demolitions vet. Or... not far enough?

Chimera

Sternguard

Thunderfire Cannon(This was a rush job, so I'm not too proud of it)

Vindicator

Predator

Forever alone

The highlighting on your tanks and SM is way too prominent.

And please fix the Ork.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

That looks really good.. i love the stand out highlights.. i've given that a go on my newest army =)

just gotta be a little more steady to be neater with them and it will look super duper!

Too many armies to count now.. mainly all 40k and AoS

Cleanse, Purge, Kill.

On the marines: I agree, the highlights are really prevalent. I mainly bought my marine army to learn to paint, and getting good highlights has been my biggest problem. I need a new detail brush, really. They look good from tabletop distance, at least.

I'll paint the orks teeth.

I think the SM look really good! I like your green/metallic colour scheme. The beige parts and the eyes add more variety. Good job! But I think the marines are looking brighter on the 2nd picture. I would prefer the darker look from the first picture. To the claw/teeth discussion: I think GW painted their Ork-Commandos with green claws, too. But I agree that the teeth should be bone-coloured. Keep it up!

Blessed be the mind that is too small for doubt!

I liked the marines look, the highlights were strong but they don't look wrong.

Please stop highlighting black cloth and hair with metallics.

Bigfoot: Most of my marines started as the lighter coloured green; I switched it up with a darker green(one of the P3 green's) and a P3 green ink as I continued to work on them. I ended up prefering the darker green, wish I had started my marines that way.

Paul: That will be very easy to fix, as I don't highlight black cloth and hair with metallics. I suppose bone white highlights washed with badab black could fool someone to thinking that, but they certainly aren't metallics.

The ruins of the Palace of Thorns

I ought to hate those red bases, but I don't. In fact, it works well.

The marines need proper basing though.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Fifty: The only thing in those pictures that I consider "based" is the nob. The guardsmen just happened to have their bases primed red along with the models, and the marines never got based(one day...)
