While you're here, check out Infinity! I guarantee you will not regret taking up this game.
I have a good few guys at my local club who play infinity, and I must say its on my wish list, along with some malifaux bits too, so I wouldn't be surprised if I 'fell' in here again sometime..
As for how I got here, I think it was through either popular or recent threads, hence my first comment being in the derp department.
Also, sorry to derail the thread a bit. I'll sit back in my corner and look at the pretty pictures for now ^_^

I tried to motivate myself by getting all of my stuff out as well as what's painted to see my whole collection at once, since I've never done it before. It had the opposite effect. When I finish my 200pt army, I've got 18 more models to paint. It's all built bar the Maghariba Guard and Go Go Marlene. Add to that a Sasvastii Noctifier with Spitfire and Speculo Killer. I'm thinking of just giving those to a friend who is sort of interested, telling him to grab a pack of Seed Soldiers and a Gwailos, and come to me for some intro games.

It looks like I might have from now until the end of the weekend suddenly free, so I am going to pledge an attempt to finish off all of the Spartan Scenics hdf pieces I have remaining (about 1/2 of the 6 total sets, and mainly the pieces that need lots of gluing) and then post a little review post on it in my my blog.

New pledge: a week-and-a-half (so that's saturday aug 31st), all painted except for perhaps the auxbots and naga. So that's two mulebots, three dronbots (fugazi, sierra, clipper), two auxilia and an aquila guard, done by then.

I got some of the ghulams I was needing, and hopefully my local dealer will have the rest for me on the weekend.
Then I can start painting them all.

I failed. The amount of filing/sanding needed to placate my OCD was more than I bargained on.

Anyway, those are done now. Next pledge: two weeks for Dragao and either my squalo or my cutter (both of which have very little paint on them yet).

So, cold/flu/evil incarnate virus has dissipated, and a game of Infinity over the weekend with a slightly altered army list has given me the enthusiasm to carry on. So, by 20 September I will have the following completed - Nasmat remote, Hassassin Barid and Odalisque with shotgun. Fiday and Ghulam have been dropped for now while I strip them.

Sorry I've not been around, all caught up now I think. OP Updated. Tell me if you spot a mistake.
I've swapped to a different measurement of successful pledges. Failed pledges will have an effect again but they'll just lose you a point on the dial instead of being permanent. Let me know what you think.

You are correct sir, my bad! I missed that one, I'll fix it now and add your pledge. Good luck!
Tell me how you find the new system guys, I don't want to put people off but I think this is more fun and less permanent.

Bam! Top job mate, I'll update the OP. Automatically Appended Next Post: I've added a pledge of my own. I'm working on an entry to Graven's Repurposing Competition. I'm turning an Infinity miniature into a Necromunda character so it fits in here for a change. This will likely be the first miniature I've finished painting in years. Fingers crossed!

Since Arenanet have decided to be stupid and kill my attempt to go for a legendary weapon, Guild Wars 2 is off my regular nightly gaming schedule. So I'll be painting more.
I've actually made progress on the Nasmat, but eed to find the money to grab a new can of grey primer, since I'm out and my Odalisque is bare (but then that seems to be how they're meant to be).
I'm also contemplating buying some resin urban bases and rebasing my stuff, but that won't be part of the pledge. I like the desert bases I've been doing, but urban seems to fit Infinity better. I'll just have to figure out a solution for things like the Fiday and Muyib standing on natural looking rocks.

No, I said urban. I was fishing for ideas on how to hide the natural looking rocks on urban bases, not a complete replacement for the base idea.

Well then I'm fresh out. Maybe just cut the rocks off entirely and attach them to chunks of rubble or something?

I'll probably stick to my desert bases anyway. I like the look, and it suits the colour scheme I'm doing. Plus, when I get around to doing my own Infinity terrain, it was going to be desert themed anyway.

@Loki - well, Nerm does live in the nation's capitol. Fewer demands on his time, gives him more time to do this stuff.
I keed, Nerm. I like Canberra. It's a great place to decompress from big-city life (like Newcastle) - unless you have to drive around it.

I completely forgot you guys were all down under. How's about that! Are you all in the Gamers Directory? I think there is only about 5 names for Oz.
Nerm I'll add your pledge now and I'm in agreement about your pace. Really amazing stuff!

Casey's Law wrote:I completely forgot you guys were all down under. How's about that! Are you all in the Gamers Directory? I think there is only about 5 names for Oz. The problem is distances. I live about 2-3 hours drive from either of them, and Nerm and chromedog, well, you can just about add those times together for the distance they live from each other. Also, talk about inspiration. I grabbed Art Book One and wow. Love the stuff in there, and those prints! The Druze and Fiday prints will be getting framed and hung in my man cave when our house is built, right above the painting desk. My only gripe is I would have loved the civilian scene with the green haied girl that's on one of the first pages as a print as well, but it seems they were doing a print for each faction. This new found inspiration has me gearing up to get started on my Barid and finish off my Nasmat this weekend.

Yeh you guys have one helluva big piece of land for so few people. Go increase the population! A 5m rise isn't going to cut the mustard.
My artbook should be arriving tomorrow so I can see the Heralds climbing back to poll position on my workbench. Actually, I'm quite excited about it.

A lot of OS people don't realise how big Australia is.
From west to east coast it's roughly the same size as the US. Perth to Sydney is 2510miles.
By comparison - LA to New York is 2781 miles.
Our eastern state capitols tend to be around 1000km apart (Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne).
Most of our population lives on the eastern side, and east coast in particular. The middle is mostly arid desert suitable only for camels (of which we have the most, and apparently the 'purest' breed.)
In the UK, what is it? "You're never more than 110 miles from the sea" ?
Nerm and I live about 5 hours' drive apart. Our highway speed is 110km/h - 68mph.
I'm two hours or so from Sydney (and it takes about an hour to cross it).

Yep, crazy stuff. I think most people in the UK have a good idea of the vastness but I couldn't speak for other populaces. I'm sure the majority of the western world has a pretty solid understanding.
Pledge progress.
