Ok, I'm thinking about how to make a sentinel with six legs, in a sort of mini defiler, to go with some traitor guard I'm planning.
I thought battlesuit legs would give the sort of thing i'm after, but I have no Idea how to put them on the sentinel hull.
Any help would be most welcome.

It would depends heavily on the leg to body size ratio....

Here is the *spacing for a 4 legged:

And a 6 legged....

And an 6 legged ant... They all have a long body in common , not sure how to do it as a cube

I'm not clear on what you want the resulting model to 'count as' - an IG Sentinel?

I like the idea of a spidery Sentinel on 6 skinny legs, but I'm not convinced Tau battlesuit legs are the best solution (and not cheap either, unless you happen to have 3 spare battlesuits lying around) - they're shorter but not that much skinnier than Sentinel legs. And they look very Tau, which will look strange unless your traitor guard do lots of looting of enemy equipment.

Personally I'd be going for the mini-defiler look, with spikey hydraulic legs. Actually making them may not be easy. Hmm, have a look at the Sentinel close combat arm - with a big spike replacing the chainsaw, that might actually be around the right size - if you can get 6 of them from a bits store...

They'd be counted as IG sentinels with Rough terrain modification.
My friend suggests I scratch build a frame and put the legs on that.
I like the spiky Sentinel arm idea. Would Necron Tomb Spider legs work?
Thanks.

Here are my multi-leg sentinels.

Based on Ghost in the Shell Tachikomas I have versions using both sentinel and tomb spyder legs.

Some more pics in my Dakka gallery I think

Thanks, those look cool.
On the unsprayed one, what's the floor of the sentinel; the thing the legs join to?

Thanks

They required a hell of a lot of sawing...

Both of them use the Tomb Spyder body with the "head and shoulders" part removed, rotated 180 degrees and pinned back onto the body.

I use Robogear spider walkers for mine.

6 legs, cockpit a little bigger than a sentinel (but a sentinel pilot WILL fit inside it fine), and mounding points for multiple weapons.

Cheap, too. One Robogear starter set cost me $20AUD. It came with 8 vehicles, a small Hexagon(TM) terrain set and 20 infantry models (and the claws/saws for the vehicles are great for ork conversions).

The SMALL Hexagon set retails for $22 BY ITSELF. So, like I said, bargain. Small Hex set and freebie models for bits/conversions.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
