I have a =I= force that I am just about to start painting.
3 units of =I= stormtroopers will be done in black armor and dark read clothing (this are the Kasrkin models)

For the other three squads (converted cadians) I wanted to paint them up as Naval Security Stormtroopers. But I didn't want them all in black so I was going to use a dark blue and black. Which should be the armor and which should be the clothes? Was going to go with black clothes and blue armor but not sure yet... any ideas?

If the first 3 units are black armor I would go with that for the Naval Units.

But images would be helpful.

For naval types I would go for blue fatigues and black or camo plating.

If you want to go navy security. Being ex-navy, the master at arms (MPs). wear regular camo, but with the new uniform changes everyone is gonna be wearing a blue/black/light grey digital camo.

I would do grey fatigues and blue carapaces. I would also give them shotguns.

Didn't GW have different uniform color schemes for each of the main Imperial Fleets? I would go for a neutral color for the armor, but use the fleet colors for the uniforms themselves. I think one of the fleets was green w/ white trim.

Check all the BFG material available online- there may be something in there.

But if you've already got black, definitely tie that in somehow- perhaps the armor as Makoz suggests, then have the uni be fleet colors.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Hmm. I looked around for a few hours this morning and couldn't find anything on uniform colors. The only instance that I know about is in the Eisenhorn trilogy, and BF Gundrun the naval securtiy was in black.
Do you have a link or a suggestion of where to look?

Dark blue and white combination is what I'd use.

navy officers where green iirc from Shira Calpurnia novels. i think, or at least Battlefleet Pacificus does.

I think it varies depending on battlefleet. in guants i beleive the drooper where as Kasrkin said

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.
