Could we do a sticky =I=munda gang / conversion thread - including the various works of those very talents chaps on here.

If possible their favorite bits to use in conversions, where they got their inspiration. Basically something to get more folk into the idea.

I know migs and dante and a couple others who have done some amazing stuff... it would be great to have a 1 stop resource / inspirational thread to look at all the gangs.

I have put my gang on hold for now until my box of Chaos Warriors, Empire Flagellants and Wood Elf Spell Singer arrive.

I am thinking about either a "Fallen Inquisitor" led "Scavy" gang or a "Pure Inquisitor" led Redemption" or "Planetary Defence / Local Militia" gang... I've traded / sold just about all my SM (limited as they were) incl. all other bits and been scavenging all sorts of bits to use in conversions.

I will definately be starting a G'Stealer Cult - purely for the fun in converting. Just came accross an interesting thread about using Chaos Daemons as the G'Stealer base and then converting from there... might now have to add a box to my order

That's not a bad idea.

I've been sort of hoping I'd find the time to make an =I=munda site, with "gang profiles" for people's work, both models and rules and stories.

Ideally we'd have something at dakkadakka, since this is were it was born, or rather in our gaming group, but we originally met through the original incarnation of dakka.

Gotta agree, I think I've already stated that the jade vessel thread should be stickied.

Would be happy to contribute.

Cheers,

so how do we make it so?

I think Migs as the most senior (er, in terms of posts and based on his registration date) should ask the mods for a sticky??

In a couple weeks I will have my life under control and will start up on the gangs again, and this time I will post WIP and painted finals etc.

btw Its pretty much your guys combined work that got me interested in WH again, the whole =I=munda concept is great, manageable both time and cash wise.

=I=munda is such a revolution in the hobby all of the best blogs and info should be put into a leather bound tome and passed around to new modelers. Or a pdf perhaps? Like a modelling/gaming primer.

A guide on how to look at bits differently would be good. The way Migs and Dante etc use parts of bits in new ways is something if importance to new modellers. I guess its a way at looking at modelling itself. A philosophy perhaps.

I know I have collected many images and put them in a folder called 'inspiration'. It's not just ones of models but pictures of rusty machinery, structures and cool paintings. I know you did this for the TWAR project Migsula. It's like an aesthetic guide or ideas palette.

I would be happy to help, where I can. I have this idea for a PDF download that could be the =I=munda primer. If people supplied images, articles/edited bits of blogs, statements etc, i'd be happy to design and make the PDF.

The website is a great idea Migsula. I've done a bit of webdesign etc (made my ferrus-workshops site and have a degree in design). I have free web hosting (uncle owns an IP in Aus), so I could also design and host the Inquisimunda website.

Just some ideas..

Earl

IronKing good idea, haven't seen you around Dakka lately.
Migsula a site would be epic if I rember right IronKing is in web design or was it advertising?Anyway I would love to help in any small way I can,I am thinking of starting my own =I=Munda gang, you and Dante's blogs got me really intrested and I have an inspiration folder of my own.

I would love either for there to be a site or a sticky thread, either way =I=munda is an awesome part of modelling and a good way for you to gain experience in the hobby and such.

Yes I think Migs should definately assume the rank of Lord =I=munda Inquisitor on any website project/collection that is done

Yes I feel exactly the same and although I can't find anyone to game against I feel so inspired by all of this I think I'm going to go ahead and just convert/model my gang anyway and hope that the number of views and responses the =I=munda threads generate will find some locally minded people for me to group with. So stay tuned for future updates on my own =I=munda plots, hope to start fairly soon, early June is my prediction. Until then I'd be happy to contribute in any way I can perharps some =I=munda fiction? I have some ideas for short stories in mind, I know Smiling Assassin has done some so perharps I can post up on his thread as can any other like minded people and it could be interspersed within any =I=munda collection/showcase thats done? If its a website it can be put up under a 'Fan Fiction' heading?

Glad I'm not the only one! I've also got an Inspirational Miniatures folder too! We can't be going far wrong though as I read an article entiled 'Finding the Muse' for Inquisitor, on the official GW (now some what depleted) specialist games section of their website saying these are the kinda things we should be doing so we must be of Puritan philosophy =I= Earl

The last thing I thought of was having a torrent of all useful =I=munda material can be everything from old specialist games articles+rules that are hard to find to catalogs and anything else we might deem helpful to the potential =I=nquisitor.

Your thoughts fellow =I=mundians?

A site of a sorts would be great, but keep the discussions and such on dakkadakka since...well I think the whole =I=munda craze has been a dakka thing from the start, taking that away from the site would be wrong.

The website could include articles on rules (variations for Necromunda, GorkaMorka, Mordheim, etc), modelling, painting, fluff and so on. I'd love to see some kick ass painting and modelling tutorials!

Since this is a fan project, how possible would it be to also include non-GW stuff such as miniatures made by other companies or different sets of rules?

I can't put in words how happy you've all made me!

Yeh I've been out of it for a while, what with being under a lot of work pressure, been away on some quasi-holiday / housesitting / volunteer work.

Then due to the economic downturn my wife and I have decided to give up our apartment and move in with my folks, who are in need of financial support... been turning the home office into a... well a home, and the small spare bedroom into an office.

I will have substantially less space now for my modelling and hobby supplies... mind you they're all in a small toolbox and can fit under my desk quite easily.

Yeh im in web-dev / advertising / marketing - good memory Chris - btw i've got the grot and some cables so i can pretty much finish off that scratch built Killa Kan for ya - haven't seen you on msn for a while!

Could everyone with folders with nice pics please put up a zip? Someone made an awesome IMUNDA logo - cant recall, but it looks pretty "official".

I actually did a pretty darn cool looking codex for a chapter I had planned on, very inquisitorial / ordo xenos'y - will try find it and we can use it as a base / template.

Stoneblood: Im fairly certain that once other players see your AWESOME conversions for an =I=munda gang they will be drooling / chomping at the chance to start a gang.

The only thing that can stop us now is an agent from the GW assasorium - and yes there is such a thing, they're watching you!

Hey guys,

I know you are all talking about setting up a sticky and gathering the info and stuff, but could you just point me at a thread or something that would have basic =I=munda info for someone that has no idea

I love all the blogs on here and id love to know more. Thanks.

I think I should direct you all to the Articles system. I think that it could easily hold what seems to be the direction folks want to go with this.

People could then add their own threads to the growing list of gangs and even create profiles for them.

I think it sounds great.

Haven't done anything for some time now, but I really want to help with anything I can.

p.s. I also have an "Inspiration" folder on my computer, for said reason.
