so yea, this is pretty much my list ill be fielding, as im starting to grow my tyranid swarm and putting orks on the back burner for a few weeks.

so? i havent played 40k since 3rd e, and never orks but i had to start piicking them up and yea i think thisll be a hilarious list. especially if i can get my nobz into assault

burna boyz are ok, but they need a ride, or you need a Mek with a KFF to give them some protection, otherwise their 6+ save is gonna do nothing when they get shot at. Lootas are decent but 5 are not, all it takes is 2 dead to force a LD check, no fearless for low count models

Troops

so killy? yeah str 7 choppas on the charge is cool, but i would cut that down a bit. take 3-4 big choppas if they are your thing, also minimal 2 klaws, a waaaaagh banner for WS 5 and a couple kombi skorchas for versatility. they also NEED a ride. dont think that a 4+ save and FNP is gonna buy you a ticket across the board footslogging and survive to get to combat, all it takes is one errant battlecoannon/vindicator/demolisher shot and all those points are being lifted off the board, so get them a trukk at least, trukks to me are like rhinos, if you get one move out of them, then they paid for themselves.

you need more boyz, and these mobz need a nob with a PK and bosspole each. slugga mobs usually dont ebenfit from special weapons so keep them lean

again, nob with PK here. stormboyz on the charge are gonna swing second agandt I4 stuff, so 9 boyz will break like water against a shoreline, the PK nobs help bring the wound count back into the ork's favor, since your not beefy enough to be fearless anf i can guarantee you lose 3-4 before you get to swing, get a klaw

make these rokkit launchers, you need some more AT, and since kans are now BS 3 they are our new firebase for rokkits

it looks like this list was thrown together without much thought as to synergy. most ork lists have some sort of theme going, some idea of how units interact and support each other. i would step back and evaluate how YOU like playing orks, personally im a horde or hybrid horde player, i tend to stay away from veheicles that arnt walkers, and i field st least 90 boyz at 1500 points.

There ain't nearly enough Salvage in this thread!

yea, im considering removing the nob squad and throwing in a looted wagon with a kill kannon, and moreboyz with the leftover.

why would i want a bosspole in a fearless unit though? if im under the point where im needing to take a ld test theyd be near dead anyways right?

figuring most of the people i know field space marines my plan was more along the lines of a counter charge or a hanging back while using the stormboyz to tie up something and wait for range throw some flamer shots for free hits, mabye kill a marine or 2 then get stuck in and see how the dice gods favor me.

against guardsmen this isnt such a great idea, but against an assault oriented force like my roommates blood angels hes building i could see this list working somewhat.

i took big shootas on my KKs cuz theyre really the only semi reliable shots in my army, and i just hate single fire weapons on low bs units, i figured to use the deffkoptas tl rokkits to inflict any anti armor punishment, with assault 3 goodness actually scoring hits, especially since the KKs are pretty weak in close combat, even with the dreadnaught ccw, though i could probably throw 2 on, id just prefer to keep a big shoota that can actually hit things =/

if your dropping the nobz, i would skip the looted wagon, its horrible. AV 11/11/10 doesnt merit the 100+ points you would spend on the HS choice.

if your deadset on the BS kans, thats on you. if you really want some anti horde i would suhhest grotzookas over big shootas. 3 can can pump out 6 templates, thats gonna push more wounds then the big shootas. the way i see it kans have 2 purposes, either AT (rokkits) or horde killing (grotzookas). big shootas are better served in shoota mobs where your going to bring the dakka anyways.

if you dont listen to anything else i sayat least get PK nobz in the troop units.
