Well my last cat died about 8 months ago and I am finally feeling ready to get a new kitty again. I was thinking about a Russian Blue or maybe a black Manx. I want one that has an extroverted personality. What do people here that love cats recommend?

"I.. I know my time has come" Tethesis said with a gasp, a torrent of blood flowing from his lips.
"No! Hang on brother!!" Altharius could feel the warmth slip away from his dear sibling's hands

Tethesis's reached out his bloodied arm to Altharius's face.
"I..I have one final request"
Altharius leaned close to listen, tears welling in his once bright eyes.
"make sure th..they put my soulstone in a tank... it'll be... real fethin' cool"
"Yes, you're gonna be the most fethin' cool tank!!" burning hot tears streaked down Altharius's face, as he held his brother's soul in his grasp.

Dogs Rule Cats drool!

Having said that, either puppies or kittens young animals or old can be found at the pound. Adopt an animal from the pound. Its cheap and the animals are grateful. Seriously you want a good pet you go to the pound.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

No matter what you get, get it from the pound or humane association. There are so many animals out there that need good homes, and they'll be much cheaper than some overbred, inbred, Emperor-knows-how-many-defects-having purebreed. The cost of a breeder dog isn't up front (though often times, it's close); it's in the medical care for all the genetic flaws.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

My parents have 2 burmese cats. They are nuts, but in a good way; very friendly and energetic.

Cats are better than dogs as they require little attention.

I'm a dachsund man myself, but if you have to get a cat...

Get a Maine Coone http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maine_Coon .

A very nice looking cat with a good temperment. I've had one and she was very lovey dovey. A friend of mine had one for 10+ years and he was a beast (in a good way).

Regardless though make sure to get one from a pound.

I'd third the pound request.

Rescue Kitty. Rescue Pooch. Is all good. But Pooch has the edge of actually caring if you live or die

They're beautiful cats, but you have to brush them every day or their fur turns into dreadlocks.

Or unlike dogs, cats have 0 loyalties and generally dont care about you.

Dogs require attention because they LOVE YOU , cats love your FOOD

Wow... so the fact that this cat in my lap is furiously headbutting me for attention, and purrs from the slightest contact, is because the food is in the other room, sitting alone and uneaten? And the fact that he does this at all hours of the day is because he... hates me? What?

You, sir, know nothing about the different personalities of cats. You can dislike them, fine, but don't make claims you can't substantiate.

My dogs, on the other hand, ignore me unless they need to crap, or I happen to have food in my hand... then, I have their undivided attention.

A mate of mine says that when cats figure out how to make opposable thumbs, we are gonna be sooo extinct.

I don't think so. They'll still need their armies of slave levies. We'll be fine.

Whenever i go home, my parent's cats bring me assorted dead vermin in varying states of completeness -eviscerated, decapitated, etc...

That is true love. I just like the fact that they leave me alone most of the time.

My parents have a rescue cat that is just awesome. His name is Rowdy. When my sisters still lived at home he would go up to their doors and (if the door was cracked open) would headbutt the door until it opened. Just about every morning he leaves a rabbit head or a pile of guts at their front door. When he gets really relaxed his tongue hangs out the front of his mouth. It's like he is part dog (probably because he grew up with their puppy).

He's a tuxedo cat (black and white, mostly black). My wiener dog Lily (black and white, mostly white) just stares at him when we bring her over. I like to image that she thinks that he is her nemesis and is plotting some elaborate plot to kill him some day, but I'm just imagining things. Right?
