Gallery of my Tau


My first army was Tau, and I have between 7-10,000 points of them - I have lots of everything except Kroot and Vespid, they're pure Tau.

As I've gotten acquainted with 40k, and as my wife plays Orks that I've started playing, I've come to the understanding that I prefer assaulting, not shooting. I don't believe that I'll get equal point value worth of Dark Eldar in exchange for my Tau, but I'll take the best I can get. All my Tau are painted, and while I haven't taken an exact count recently, here's the basic breakdown:

Everything that can be magnetized is: Railguns, Suit arms, etc

3 Sniper Teams
6 Broadsides
14 Suits (1 Farsight, 1 Shas'o)
60 Firewarriors
2 Hammerheads with Railguns + 1 extra Ion Gun
16 Pathfinders (+ a few spares)
60 Firewarriors (+ a few spare parts)
3 Devilfish
18 Gun drones
12 Shield Drones
1 sealed in the box Skyray Missile Gunship

Plenty of Shields, Fusion Blasters, Plasma Guns, Flamers, etc + cyclic ion blaster, fragmentation airburst launcher, a few spare drones, couple of metal stealth suits, and a lot of parts (tau body parts, heads, guns, etc)
2 leader cast Ethereals. They're primed black.
The rest of the army is painted; two gun drones per matching firewarrior squad, suits are painted in squads, all broadsides are painted alike, Farsight is painted like Wolverine, Shas'o is painted like Voltron, and tanks are painted...well, cool.

Its all in a custom fit large GW case, along with a Codex, rules, dice, ruler.

Let me know if you have Dark Eldar and have always wanted Tau! I really want a Dark Eldar army. Here's the base of what I'm after:

1-2 Archons
8-10 Incubi, Incubi master
60-70 warriors (to start, plus sybarites)
30 Wyches + succubus
9-10 raiders
3 ravagers
15 bikes, + succubus
1 Talos (room for more depending on trade)
Drazhar
Asdrubael Vect

That's the basics of it, and would give me room to play around with different configurations, but I *do* want a highly mobile army, which is why there are so many raiders in here. I'd be willing to entertain mandrakes, but haven't any interest in the other stuff; more warriors would be a possibility to give me room to experiment with warrior squads doing webway nastiness.

I have D-Eldar i would love to trade with you . however i dont have enough for a trade -_- and im currently prohibited from spending money.

Unless i can convince you for D.Eldar + other stuff you might want?

My wife has orks, I have Tau. If you have any Orks to add to the DE, that would be nice. How many points worth of DE do you have in there, not including upgrades?

At the end of the day, I need to have enough DE that I can play in a tournament; 1500, 1850, 2500.

Honestly, I'd probably be willing to trade a good 2500 points of Dark Eldar (good Dark Eldar) in exchange for 3-4x their point value in Tau.

I dunno how many points those D Eldar adds up to , just see if you want them or not ^^;

Ork im more confident in , pick which ever you want to buy.

I'm not actually sure about what you have for Orks in there. And are you talking about adding orks into the trade with the DE for Tau, or for selling the Orks?

Just to lend a helping hand, Lunahound has 600 to 700 points worth of Dark Eldar there. However, most of it is wrapped up in HQ choices, I only see a single Troops choice there.

Okies, my local guy isn't returning my calls; I know he's having some personal issues.

If someone has enough Dark Eldar to make a trade, or if you want to trade DE for Tau but don't have enough points, I can make some trade(s).

Ideally, I'd like to trade an entire army for an entire army. If not possible, I can do some piecemeal trades.

I have a ton of dark eldar, I could easily shave 2000-2500 pts or so off what I have and get you a balanced DE force. Might take a couple days to round up the bits for the raiders/ravagers, I have a bit of everything, except a lord- not sure if I have a spare and Im not sure I could bear to part with one of my converted ones

But if you're still looking, let me know and give me an idea of what sort of force you're wanting and I'll see if I can put it together.

Hey folks, I've posted pictures of my Tau in the first post - finally borrowed a digital camera. =)

They aren't all in there, and I don't have close ups of everything I did take pictures of, but it should be enough for a general picture of what I've done. Everything is magnetized and/or detachable. IE, smart missile systems, burst cannons and stuff on devilfish/hammerheads aren't glued on, they're set in so that they can be changed out for other equipment.

Update:

I've updated with what I'm looking for; still working with one guy, who has limited items on the list I'd like to put together, so I'll need more DE even if we trade. Mistress has some local issues and can't trade, and other folks haven't had enough to work out a decent sized trade.
