I'm perhaps a little late to the party, but after having watched through the series (and then serenity again to complete the experience), I can now safely say that it's one of my favourite things of all time. This is how science fiction should be.

Also, I totally cannot get over how awesome that theme music is.

Firefly is dead. Long live Firefly!
If Firefly does come back I doubt it'll be as good as the originals. Without Wash's humour and Book's wisdom the characters would stagnate. And think about it: Any problems that arise would be solved by going "River, sic 'em!"

Firefly was great.
The movie was a weak attempt to fit a whole series (or more) into 1 1/2 hours. :(

I'm up to episode 11 and have put off watching the rest knowing that I can only watch them once. Sometime in the coming weeks I'll finish it, but I'm going about it like a teenage girl wanting everything to be perfect - right lighting, right food, biggest best screen possible, etc. I've enjoyed it immensely so far and even the wife has expressed interest in watching it. I've started watching jericho as well even though that was also cancelled.

I actually got the wife to watch an episode (our Mrs Reynolds) a couple of days ago.

Of course, turns out she was only watching for the gratuitous Mal butt-shot at the end (me, I was watching it again for Inara and 'mrs Reynolds' - what? I'm married, not blind.)

My roommates were super into it. It's kinda hard not to see the entire series when the DVDs are on every other evening in the main room. The RPG does a really good job of capturing the flavor of the series.
