I'm not starting this thread out of spite or anything and I hope that its acceptable for me to bring this up. I'm putting this up here to warn people who may be thinking about using Woot3 for ordering their models.

Around 4-5 weeks ago I ordered around £85 of miniatures from woot3 and after making the order I told a friend who said that he had been waiting for stuff form them for a good few weeks, maybe even months. I was a little concerned so I emailed woot 3 and was impressed to receive a call back explaining that they did initially have problems with orders, but they have resolved that and I should get my order shipped within 48 hours.

Needless to say that I didn't.

A week later I phone up and explain that I have received nothing, I am told 'we are dealing with it right now!' I wait 2 more days and 5 boxes of Calvary arrive. At this point I am missing 2 big metal models and 2 more boxes of plastics. I pick the phone up and am told 'we are dealing with that for you right now' I wait again and nothing!

So now I am making phone calls and emailing and getting zero response for nearly 2 weeks now.

My friend still hasn't had his items after phone calls and is now getting no response too. Also I have heard of another friend with similar issues!

Really disappointed with this stockist, like I said this isn't me flaming them up on a forum it's a warning to others who may be wanting to use them.

4 or 5 weeks delay?

Unacceptable.

I hope you ordered via credit card, because you're being jerked around.

I'd call my credit card company and have the payment reversed.

Then I'd contact a reliable seller to fill the order.

Woot3? Is that their actual company name or yet more overly cute internet shorthand? Just curious.

Okay, thanks. I'd not heard of them or seen ads for them. Sounds like I'll be waiting until Shuttler's issues are resolved before deciding whether or not to order from them.

Beg pardon, but if you are going to bother to go online for your crack, why would you go with someone who only offers a 10% discount? Seriously, I'm curious.

It was a 30% discount but since the GW price hike and the lesser discount for webs retailers the discount has reduced.

I ordered prior to the price change

Still no word from them

Not sure where you'd find one, but yes, John's got the right idea.

Agree with Sidstyler.

You need to go to a reputable online retailer i.e. the warstore in the US or Maelstrom games or megaminis anywhere else.

Hell, Maelstrom isn't too bad if you're in the US, too.

Miniatures Market and Gifts For Geeks are good too.

GW won't investigate the place for you. Best bet is to call your CC company and cancel the payment, or file a dispute. Do it now, not in a month.

Ahem....I had a very very similar experience with WOOT3. I ended up calling the "owner" John a number of times before finally getting my goods. The service is absolutely crap that they offer!

I would never order from them again. I had the distinct impression they were fly by nights, but once you've made the leap and placed money in their pockets, you almost have to paly ball.

My advice, if you are having no luck, then inform the Trading Standards people, they WILL assist you and they WILL investigate all claims of online theft or false sales....did you know that an online seller has to have the items in stock before taking your money.....if they don't thats illegal!

Anyway, good luck!

#edit# It looks like their website has been taken down! SO if you're outstanding any goods, now is perhaps the time to....errmm, worry!

Woot 3 have bit the dust as far as I can tell. I suspect a lot of the 'cheap' traders are falling over because of the Workshop discount crash against net only traders, especially those who took pre-orders when the price was cheap and now cannot fulfill them.

The best thing to do is deal with sites that have a 'bricks and mortar' store as well as a web site. There are plenty of reputable sites still going strong and some new ones that look to have a good service even if the prices are not the 40% babies we used to love.

Wayland is a popular choice and other than being a tad slow sometimes my stuff has always turned up. I used Guys That Game for 40K and some other non-GW items and they were very fast in shipping (also local to me and are apparently opening a shop, fingers crossed) , not tried Metalmen but I have heard good things.

The best recommendation you can get is from forums like this where people have used the service.

If you have an outstanding order with Woot 3 get on to your CC company ASAP.

BANZAIIIII !

UPDATE:

Looks like the site came back online. Hmm...not one to trust I fear.

I placed a $120 order from woot3 one year ago from today's date. I have still not received anything from them and unfortunately they kept me on the hook for so long with their excuses that I was unable to recoup the money I spent. I have recently heard that they may have been shut down and that their website will no longer load but I still want to warn everyone to avoid them at all costs if they end up making a resurgence. I have had much less luck than some people I have talked to because I live in the US but some people I spoke with from the UK eventually did get their orders. I even filled complaints with the BBB, Attorney General's office and my local state police. All were unable to make any progress or even get into contact with them. I hope they are done for good so they don't screw anyone else over.
