Each person brings an FO with 1250 points. I'm bringing Necrons and I'm teaming up with Orks.

Here's what I'm thinking.

Lord
Orb, Gaze of Flame, Chronometron, Warscythe
2x 10 Warriors
4 Destroyers
3 Destroyers
Monolith
Heavy Destroyer
Heavy Destroyer

He's bringing:

Warboss
bike, power klaw, attack squig, eavy armor, cybork

Big Mek
KFF

12 Burna Boyz
Trukk

3x 20 Slugga Boyz
Nob
powerklaw, bosspole

20 Shoota Boyz
Nob
powerklaw, bosspole

3 Killa Kans - 150 points
3 Rokkit Launchas

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So the weaknesses of this list that I see are:

1) We have a Monolith which is ignored a lot and 1 armor 10 vehicle that blows up real easy. The Kans will have the KFF, but at armor 11...those three are going to have to make a lot of 4+ saves to survive.

2) We're kind of slow in general. Fast armies will be able to circle us and pick at us.

I'm thinking about dropping the 2 Heavy Destroyers for a Destroyer and 5 Scarab Swarms with Disruption Fields. The Heavy Destroyers haven't performed too well in the past few practice games at this points level, and my Destroyers always seem able to immobilize or stun a crucial target. So instead of keeping my Destroyers firing on the same target over and over, I'll keep turbo-boosting my Scarabs and wait for a sitting duck to get 20 auto-hits on.

Increase the number of warriors you have because when you think about it its a 2500pt game and they will just shoot your warriors and any two other models to pieces and you will phase out and then they will only have to face 1250pts of orks. I would also advise your teammate to that he can't take a trukk with burna boyz and rather I would add more basic boyz or increase the size of the other squads.

It's likely to fall to you to hold the objectives on your side of the board while the Waaaaggggh runs for the enemy objectives, plan your army accordingly. More Warriors is probibly a good way to do that. What you really want to do is provide covering fire for the Orks while they advance. If the orks assault starts going south, you can then move up deal with the battered enemy.

There are 60 orks on foot in this list. They will not have issues holding objectives on their own side. Leave 20 orks on it, and make sure their in cover. Objective held. I second dropping the burna boyz, because they are ineffective, and cant take a trukk. That frees up 220 points in his list, approx. Why not have him drop some boyz out of elsewhere and take 2 trukks full of boyz, for 300 pts. It will give your list some mobility.

QTF drummerholt, your list is build to be phased out. You need more warriors. On the one hand, I see the purpose of the dual build, he has the assault elements, you have the Heavy support, but if you phase out you cant do that. I think you need at least 30 regular necron warriors in a list of 1250, but I only have a fledgling force, so take my advice for what it is worth.

Yes, the orks could hold the objective(s) on their side of the board, but there's little reason when the Necron can do so while being harder to dislodge and/or still participting in the battle.

What do you mean by "QTF" I never seen that before? And as far as the orks go there should be like 100+ on foot. Also why is the warboss on a bike put him on foot there is no point in having him roll forward by himself so that he will win one combat and then get shot to hell the next turn!

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

My advice:

Give your Lord a Veil of Darkness and a Rez orb. There's a reason everyone uses that combo. Attach him to a squad of 20 warriors, and hold them in reserve in your monolith. A second troop choice of warriors to round out your requirements will do it.

Drop the heavy destroyers; with 1250 points to play with, you can't afford them - take more destroyers instead. Their 36" sniping attacks will work wonders. I dont' know what your points will look like beyond that.

Tactically, turn two or three you're going to deep strike your monolith into the middle of the enemy in a display of unholy wrath. Have your Ork buddy hang out in ruins, forests, all sorts of 4+ cover goodness for his 6 point models.

Your warriors and Lord march out the front of your monolith, proceed to rapid fire 40 shots into...well, whatever you like. You'll Gauss flux arc everything around you for some damage, and your warrior squad will probably kill a whole unit. They'll get shot in return, but you'll have two WBBs to recover, at which point you'll rapid fire another unit. If you get assaulted....well, you'll still get two WBBs; the Monolith can pull you out of close combat, right?

And when you're cleaning things up and realize that you need to go take an objective; fwoom - Veil over there turn 5 or so and take what's yours.
