As my title says:
In my Ork army, I can take a trukk as a dedicated transport for some units (Boyz, nobs, etc), and those trukks don't take up a spot on my force organization chart.
In my Ork Codex, trukks are listed under the title "Dedicated Transport Vehicle"
Does that mean that I can't buy any trukks outside of them being dedicated transport vehicles? IE, what about when I want to get a squad of Tankbustas into a trukk? Does someone else have to get out of their dedicated transport to make it doable? Dedicated transports count as a killpoint though?

Yes. Only the unit who purchased the dedicated transport can start in it, but they can get out and let someone else in.

Dedicated transports are a Killpoint, if they dont appear in Fast Attack, Heavy Support, etc then you cant buy them outside of being a dedicated transport.
Thus the closest to getting a trukk for your tankbustas would be to buy a truck for your boys, start the game with your boyz not in the truck and the Tankbustas sitting behind the trukk, then on your first turn you can jump into the said truck.

AFAIK most vehicles which can be taken on their own and as Dedicated Transports have their own entry under the appropriate FOC slot: Landraiders can be taken as a HS choice on their own, in addition too being listed as a Dedicated Transport in several OTHER unit's entries. Same with Falcons.
Rhinos, Razorbacks, Chimeras are all listed OUTSIDE the FOC entries and cannot be taken without the unit(s) which 'unlock' them.

How about this then?
I usually take a squad of 'Ard Boyz, stick them in a Battlewagon (Heavy support) and run them up the field.
Can I have an 'Ard Boy squad of 20 buy a trukk so that I have access to it, then start my game with the trukk deployed and my Tankbustas around it? Then turn 1 they can jump into the trukk and scoot up the field.

Not quite.
You can buy a trukk, but only if the squad numbers 10-12 boyz. If you have a mob greater than 12, they cannot purchase a trukk.
So your options are:
1. Use a HS slot and purchase a battlewagon for the Tankbustas
2. Use a HS slot and purchase a looted wagon for the tankbustas
3. Have a mob of 12 shoota boyz (don't do this for slugga boyz) buy a trukk. Deploy them separately (don't put the boyz in the trukk). Your first turn, your tankbustas get in the trukk and away they go! Use your shoota boyz to hold an objective or be as useful as possible.

I dont have the Ork codex at hand but is the wording say "A boy squad of 12 or less models may buy a trukk" or is it like the Space Marines codex were you can buy a razorback for a tenman squad they just wont be able to fit into it if not combat squaded

Anyone who can weigh in on that one?
Can I not buy a trukk unless there's 12 or less boyz? Obviously, a bigger squad couldn't fit in there.

If you opt to use a trukk to transport tankbustaz then there can be no more than 12 of them.

Different wording thean space marines. It doesn't matter how many marines are in the squad, they can purchase a razorback.
For orks, only if your mob is equal or less than 12, can they purchase a trukk. If you purchase a 13 boyz mob, you cannot purchase a trukk.

Playing around with Army Builder, it won't let you take a trukk if you have 13+ boyz.

That's because you can't transport more than 12 models in a trukk.

I concur. I was just mentioning my experience with AB since I don't actually have a codex.

I'm not 100% clear on what you're waiting for people to say... The codex says "Mobs of 12 or fewer models may take a Trukk as a dedicated transport vehicle."
There's really no other side to the argument. You simply can't do it.

Deffgob, not everyone comes to these forums to argue something; sometimes they just want to know how their army is supposed to work so that they can build a list and not do something illegal.

Alright. I apologize for my tone. It just seemed as though the question had already been answered, and I'm so used to finding people on here that are fishing for some non-existent loophole in the rules that will let them do something that it clearly says they can't... This forum really isn't good for my anger issues
