With taking Allies....how do we rule on the use of the new 5th Space Marine/Imperial Guard Codex. What Sentinals can be used? What Leman Russes? If I take a platoon that now comes with heavy weapon units and special weapons units options.....as well as all the Marine changes.....I know that it's more of a big deal with the new IG but still?

Well, let's see... looks like everything in an infantry platoon can be taken... it specifies "Leman Russ Battle Tank" for the Leman Russ, so I'd guess it's only that variant... Sentinels are listed under Fast Attack, so I would guess it's only the recon sentinels that can be used (the armored ones are elites, right?).

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Both types of Sentinels are fast attack.

There is no real clear answer on this.

Platoons are fine, with all options, no question.
Armoured Fist are out, no question.
Rough Riders are fine, but who uses them?
Sentinels are iffy. RAW, you cannot use them at all; RAI, you can use Scout Sentinels.
The Leman Russ is also iffy. RAW, you cannot use them; RAI you can use a single Battle Tank.

You will have to clarify with your opponents in advance if you want to use inducted Guard vehicles.

coolest thing here is using the new chimeras from the new IG infantry platoon to transport your sisters/GK around. Since the new chimeras are the same cost as the old rhino + smoke and searchlight you've got a pretty good deal. Add in some extra medium firepower from the Multi laser and hull HB you have yourselves the making of a pretty good mech army. 5 firing points is pretty scary with both stormbolters and templates! It may actually make dominion squads worth it. 4 Flamers and 1 combi flamer, led my a cheap character with litanies= lots of dead everything.

Has anyone else read the entry rules on the GW site for the upcoming 'Ard Boyz contest? I know it's not exactly an official faq, but it could be interpreted as where they will go with the new codices (whenever they appear).

Here's what's allowed at the 'Ard Boyz tourney for Inquisitional forces using allies:

Space Marine allies, chosen from the latest versions of
their codices. As both of these codices have changed

of the Witch Hunters book:
Troops
Space Marine Tactical Squad, Space Marine Scout
Squad, Imperial Guard Infantry Platoon, Imperial
Guard Veteran Squad. Unit upgrade characters
may NOT be taken (i.e. Commander Chenkov,
Sergeant Bastonne)
Fast Attack
Space Marine Assault Squad, Land Speeder
Squadron, Space Marine Bike Squadron, Scout
Sentinel Squadron, Armored Sentinel Squadron,
Rough Rider Squad, Scout Bike Squad
Heavy Support
Space Marine Devastator Squad, Space Marine
Land Raider (Crusader and Redeemer as well),
Space Marine Dreadnought, Space Marine

That seems a fair Compromise actually, allowing vets instead of Armoured Fists

Can't the squads in infantry platoons take chimeras though?

yeah they can, but i suppose its for people who just want a SINGLE squad in a chimera, rather than 2 Squads and a squad in a chimera

Yeah, I guess that's a good point.

Not every Inquisition player is going to have fifteen spare guardsmen laying around to make a full platoon.
