Tough-as-Nails Ork Boy







ok i have a pretty big ork army and hae mesmorised all the rules however i still see my selve failing can you see why:

Warlord Ghazgkull mag uruk thraka,power klaw,big shoota,225 pts
Weirdboy Raskotrug,55 pts

8 kommandos with a big shoota and burna and a nob with power klaw,135 pts
5 tankbustas inculding a nob,a tank hammer and 2 bomb squigs,95 pts

5 nobz with two twin linked shootas,one with power klaw a waaagh banner,and a bosspole including a painboy and grot orderly,190 pts
30 boyz with two rokkit launchas and a nob with power klaw,235 pts
30 boyz with two big shootas and a nob,200 pts
10 ard boyz and a nob,110 pts
10 gretchin led by runtherd,40 pts

9 stormboyz including nob,118 pts

2 lobbas,40 pts
1 zzap gun,30 pts

total pts:1473

O H I am in the Webway...

Your not big enough to be a horde army, yet your army plays like one. You are all on foot, which is ok in lists like Kan Wall and just a good ol' boyz spam, but otherwise this is probably the main reason your loosing. You need to make the choices first:

Foot or Mech

If foot:
Horde
Kanwall

If Mech:
Battlewagon Rush
Balanced
"Speed Freekz" all trucked up

Those are your standard builds really. Idk how much I can advocate your heavy support either. Its kinda week, better off with Kans or something else like Battlewagons or Looted Wagons. I personally recommend you go Kan Wall and do something like this:

Ghazgkull - 225 (this maybe should just be replaced by a boss, with da Nobz)
BM W/ KFF
5 MaN - 2x Kombi Skorchas in a Trukk (can be a BW)
(3x)
20x Shoota Boys - 2x Big Shootas Nob Bosspole (Nob can have Klaw if you want)
(3x)
3x Killa Kans w/Grotzookas (some can be KMB's)

You can also run some lootas if you get the extra points. The build is pretty standard, run the kanz in front of the boyz and the Mek in one of the boyz squads providing KFF to all the Kans. Its annoying to kill just becuase of the fact that if they target the kans, 4+ cover save, and if they target the boys 4+ cover save. If they destroy the Kans they still get a 5+ KFF save.

PS. Funny thing about this post, I finished half at like 8:00 went and got my wisdom teeth ripped out, came home and finished it haha

Speed kills, numbers kill. Your army has neither. Ard boyz take up too many points, and still die to everything. 9 Stormboyz isn't a threat, its a target. zap guns suck in this edition. Lobbas have always sucked. If you are going to run big guns, run with 3 units of 3 cannons. Tankbustas are bad unless they are in a battlewagon. The best bet is to not take them. If you take kommandos, bring 15, with snikrot and 2 burnas. It will put the fear in the back line of your enemy. How you have your unit done up it will just die. A 5 man normal nob squad without transport will just die as well.

What I'm trying to say is that a foot slogging army can't have elite MSU units, the enemy will just kill the elite units first, then kill the normal boyz. You don't have enough boyz to take it unlike in the horde list.

Also your HQ selection is bad at 1500. Ghazgkull is a bit pricey at this level, but doable if you only use him. Adding in a weirdboy is just bad. The weirdboy with Ghazkull combo for lots of WHAAAAGH isn't good, and only worth trying if you take the warp head upgrade.

Here is my suggestion for 1500, for a foot shooting list:

HQ: big mek w/ KFF
big mek w/ shock attack gun

Troops: 30 shoota boys, 3 big shootas, nob with PK
30 shoota boys, 3 big shootas, nob with PK
30 shoota boys, 3 big shootas, nob with PK

Elite: 10 lootas
10 lootas
10 lootas

Heavy: 3 cannons
3 cannons
3 cannons

Not the best I could do, but it has a nasty gun line.

The KFF moves up with the boyz providing cover. The shock attack gun hides in the back with the lottas and cannons. Lootas are meant to provide withering firepower to take out transports (and fast troops), kannons can do the same. After the enemy mobility is neutralized, your boyz can also put down a nasty amount of firepower. The shock gun is just a bit of fun that can randomly win games. The drawback of getting hurt yourself won't hurt you as much, because orks can take friendly fire losses and keep on going.
