So I'm finally getting around to painting my dark eldar force mostly consisting of wyches and their accompanying transports. I'm having a really tough time coming up with color scheme ideas. I want to avoid blues, purples, and browns as that is what I have been mostly using for my marines and tallarn forces. I'm leaning towards yellows, anyone got any ideas? I'm actually pretty bad with yellows so I'll take any advice people can give. I plan on putting allot of time into this project.

Ive seen some nice tutorials on painting in yellows. black base, Ive seen people paint it orange, then yellow on top. Same thing with brown as an under coat then yellow ontop. Sounds weird I know but it looked pretty good.

cool thanks for the advice. I did a test on white and it didn't come out so well. I'll try with orange first. Thanks

If I had to do it all over again I would gone with black and blue. Instead I went the purple route and regretted it ever since.

The first army I ever painted was a Dark Eldar army way back in 3rd ed.
I basicly just copied the "Kabal of The Black Heart" color scheme (black, purple, gold, silver, white),nothing very original.
However.I always thought somthing "insect" like in nature would look cool on DE, a scheme utilizing yellows, greens, blacks & oranges...just a thought.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

yeah I just spent days dunking old crappy paint jobs in simple green, reading them for repaint. They were also my first 3rd ed army.

ORANGE would make them stand out quite well but insect would be awsome
