You can select one of the warjacks to see the 360 view (it's on the bottom of the gallery pages).

The giant shoulderpadded heavy warjacks have since grown on me.

That's amazing, I didn't think they could get any more disproportionate.

The Fluff text talks about some of the models having cannons.

But I'm not seeing any.

I sure hope that they're not seriously armed with crotch guns.

ah, but think of the fun of reading battle reports that end with "and then the crotch cannon had los to my caster"

I tried watching one of the 360 shots but I don't think they used a large enough room to fit the pauldrons in. It went halfway then it looks like it knocked over the camera.

All that aside, seeing full turnarounds of these models makes them look better to me.

I still think a good darker color scheme would make these guys look better.

The designs definantly have a like it or you don't aspect about them. I don't see them as all that bad or all that great. I do agree with Vertrucio that a darker color probably would look better. I don't dig ghost white and sea foam green.

Yeah, with a darker color, the painter can also paint on simulated light (aka baked light for you 3D buffs) representing bright glowy parts. As it stands, I think those sea foam green segments are supposed to represent bright glowy parts but the effect is lost.

While I defended these as being wonderfully surreal, they're absolutely wretched if considered a part of the Warmachine lineup.

I think the cannons are those disc shaped "vents" that a few of them share. Some sort of Elf laser?

What are you talking about? They're Space Marines, which are heroic. They need to be able to do all the heroic stuff. They fight aliens and don't afraid of anything. -Orkeosarus

Well DUH. They're mythical beasts from mythology. Everyone, and I mean everyone, uses these names in fiction. The names also tend to indicate the general combat capabilities of the unit, since all those mythical beasts tended to have distinct abilities.

So don't start with the who rips off who bit, because the reality is we're all pulling from common cultural influences.

Those discs are probably elf "lasers". Someone was mentioning that these myrmidons have some sort of cannons on them, but it doesn't show on the model. Since these run purely on magic, I wouldn't be surprised if the general schtick for myrmidons is trading off between using focus and their internal magic power to fire the lasers or fight in melee.

Ripoff's notwithstanding, they are pretty uninspired names for a new faction, and don't seem to really gel with the models they are attached to.

This gives a whole new meaning to a Plus-6 die roll.

Seriously ... that's a VERY cool link. Obviously...scans prior posts again...not to everyone's taste, but a very nice variant to the existing line. I used to get irked when GW would go in a whole new design direction, but I've come to conclude that finding styles and niches for all kinds of gamer tastes is always a win.

The Arc Node is on the Chimera. I don't know what the disc things on the back of the
Phoenix are. Maybe they help television reception.

They're the same wheel things, so the Phoenix is also an Arc Node...

The design of these reminds me quite a bit of the Zilart related badguys and structures from FF11. Although those had violet colored energy running them rather than green they both have the compound curves and plain white substance that sugests bone or something grown. That and the leg and body design looks an awful lot like some of the mech designs from xenogears. If I had to guess I'd say that whoever designed these is a big Square fan.

Regardless of what you think of the models...I'm surprised there are less comments about this bit from the PP site:

"This box set contains three color stat cards and one multi-part heavy myrmidon plastic model (PIP 35007). Included are all the components to assemble one of three heavy myrmidon variants: Hydra, Manticore, or Phoenix."

They arent bad if they are plastic. I actually dig the all white.

They dont fit WM looks at all though.

Have to agree with a poster above I thought of Square before PP.

Appearantly, the female caster has similar rules as Eyriss. I call Cheese.

Rats, I hate using Eyriss, always seemed so cheesy to use her.

Now there's a caster based around that, what's worse, I like her model better than the other guy.

And yeah, I plan to get some retribution stuff.
