Good thing I quit before competitive players weren't Yu-Gi-Oh cross overs.

More *snore* news from Wizards. Thanks for the link though. I hadn't been in the loop for the while so the chances of me ever getting back into the game increase. Hope it works for them though.

It's not getting a lot of snores from people who play magic though. It's causing quite a bit of rage and I have to admit, I'm raging although calmly.

Well, my perspective is that of a bitter old man (for a magic player that is) so take anything I say with a shaker of salt, but I hope that you can weather the changes just fine.
Look at the bright side, new versions of cards you already have .

I personally think it's bad. By making combat damage not use the stack and restructuring the combat step they have eliminated many tactical tricks that make the game fun for competitive players. They eliminate cards like Mogg Fanatic and Sakura Tribe elder as good cards. They can no longer block something, put their damage on the stack (to take out a chump) then sacrifice to produce an effect.
I don't play anymore, so I'm going to be asking the few people I do know that still play magic at my FLGS how they feel about it.
Also, the changing of the names of a lot of stuff is needless and kind of gays the game up quite a lot.

i haven't played regularly for a year or so, and looking over the new rules, i don't believe i'll bother getting back into the game. after all the years i've played, those changes are rather to much all at once, and some of them stupid/crappy. oh well, guess i'll have something new to add to my trade thread edit-hm, i should sleep more, i got rather whiny sounding in this post. basically, i haven't played enough in the last year or two for it to be worth the time to change how i've learned and played the game for 8 years or so

I like them. Most seem pretty reasonable.
1) Simultaneous Mulligans.
How it's done in the real world.
2) Terminology Changes
Not unreasonable, sounds like there has been some confusion in the past.
3) Mana Pools and Mana Burn
not huge. Most people avoided the burn at any rate and again
4) Token Ownership
Minor
5) Combat Damage No Longer Uses the Stack
Probably the biggest change, and one I like upon review. Combat makes more logical sense.
6) Death touch
Logical, with the new rules. Hello Kederekt Creeper.
7)Life Link
Meh.

It's an attempt to turn back the clock on magic. the rules and such had become to much for people in the game. I got out of it after following it from the start, I think it's good they focus on normal gamers and casual players, but it's too little too late.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.
Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole |

Well, there goes me getting back into Magic. Although I feel bad for a friend of mine. He's at Navy basic training right now and is a serious Magic player. He recently went to the Pro Tour in Kyoto.
He's gonna hate this.
Anyways, thanks for the update.
