My idea of a Shas'o is a big ball of armor, what better way to use something like that than dropping it in a pocket of heavy hostile resistance? theeeeeeen... Cut em down with, CAAAARRRBIIINES!

Poor shas'o...

I respectfully disagree.

The way I use bait is to kill as many guys as possible to draw attention away from others or to lead em somewhere... But a Shas'o going into close combat is like the beginning of "The Last Samurai"; the conscripted gunners just got crucified by the more melee-savvy and experienced Samurai. Don't waste him, use him for fire support or plugging holes in your line. He can have so many nasty upgrades that make him particularly dangerous. But Tau as a whole aren't very melee-friendly, so let your cannons do the work and leave the swordplay to kroot, vespid, or that outcast guy with the uber-blade (his name escapes me).

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

That's farsight, and even he shouldn't be running into CC.

If you want to use him as bait, give him Iridium armor, a shield booster, and two shield drones. Have him out front drawing fire while he's in cover. You've got 4+ cover saved, 4+ invulnerable saves, and 2+ armor saves.
