Some yu-gi-o player(i think) stole my BGB and cant search this on my own so here it goes.
IF the rhino uses a smoke launcher can the models in the transport shoot?
Can someone explain how firing in a transport work, like LoS movement penalties if moved 6" or 12"?
Thanks

Buy a new one, look up the rules. The first question is Valid However. RaW yes they may fire, as smoke only prevents the vehicle firing, not the passengers. As for the second one, buy the rulebook and look it up, it is clearly explained there. Asking for rules wholesale because you do not have the book is a breach of GW Copyright, IP and alsoa breach of DakkaDakka Rules.

Gwar, dont answer or try to help anyone on dakka if you feel by someway it breaks your morale code of copyright laws. I didnt ask for someone to copy paste or send me a scan copy of the book. I simply said asked if someone could explain it to me. If this breaks dakka rules everyone who answers questions on this forum "you make da call" are breaking the rules. Also, I have bought the book before and i will get another copy i just asked a favor of fellow dakkas to help me out at that moment when i did not have a BGB near me. I am not the only one in this site that has asked of this. So, please stay on topic or dont post.

Ya see?! Ya see what I have to deal with? I go and answer a guys question, in a perfectly civil manner. I even went and answered the legitimate question in his post. And then people still accuse me of being rude and unhelpful. Seriously, what the

RAW models shooting from the fire point on a rhino (the top hatch) can only draw LoS to units above the rhino

Awww poor Gwar... Maybe he didn't believe your sig... Or maaaybe he didn't like the snide remarks you threw in. Your idea of "civility" doesn't appear to agree with him.
His second question is a bit vague- I think he is conflating two separate restrictions- but he clearly wasn't asking for wholesale rules quotes as you accused him of doing. He asked a question about LOS and restirctions wrt movement distance. I do think we need a little more definition to this before we can answer it though. For the OP- What part of the restrictions do you not understand? LOS? Or shooting restrictions based on distance moved? What type of transport vehicle are we talking about? The Rhino from your first question? Skimmer? Fast? Normal?

Hold on a second here.
Units in a vehicle cannot fire if the vehicle moves more than Combat speed (6") regardless of whether the vehicle is fast, or a skimmer, or "normal."

Sure, but it sounds like the OP doesn't know what he doesn't know. He may not know any of this, or some part but not others, or maybe he has read it several times but it is not clear to him so we need some clarity on what he is actually asking. We need a bit more info from him before we can answer his real question. A specific question is easier to answer than a broad, vague one. we just don't kow what his real point of confusion is so he needs to narrow it down.

True, but implying that there are differences based on vehicle type won't do much to prevent confusion.
So here's the basic rule:
A unit embarked on a transport may fire out of the transport if it has fire points (one model per fire point) or if it is open topped (then all models may fire). If the vehicle is stationary, the unit counts as stationary. If the vehicle moves up to combat speed (6" for all vehicle types) they may fire counting as moving. If the vehicle moves faster than 6" (red paint job may be a slight exception to this, I'm not sure) then the embarked unit may not fire if they remain embarked on the vehicle.

Good summation of the basic rule. That may be what he was asking for or it may not- we don't know yet. I intended to show that he needed to tell us a bit more about his confusion- was it related to LOS? Shooting restrictions? He mentioned both in the same query which indicated he was conflating the two issues somehow. Fair point about my initial post- the type of transport (fast, normal, etc) is immaterial- only its speed counts wrt restrictions on units firing out. Poor wording on my part...
